received an email from Jack Rodwell for 150 Motorcraft air filters and spark plugs going to Michael Lawrence in Jamaica NY on 156th street. Rodwell has his credit card waiting to send me the info. Thanks to all of you for your posts!!!!!!!! Pretty much knew this was a scam. Have been in business too long to catch me off guard.

Just wondering but were they a bunch of business books? He kept insisting that he wanted to pay by credit card right now, and wanted 20 of each book. The man was very East Indian, went by the mane Michael Smith, and kept insisting that I tell him my name and that I give him the store's email address instead of giving out his phone number.

Scammer tried to order books from our bookstore. Sorry we're too smart for that.

Not only did they hit you guys up for car parts, but now they are trying to get college textbooks claiming to be the "Michael Smith Institute".  They ordered 10 copies of 8 different titles.  No answer when you try to contact them.  Their email address is WESELEE@OUTLOOK.COM

Just received one from a Dave Moore. This one is for a bunch of filters. I have also seen the name Michael Smith a few months back.

Do not sell to anyone who calls from this number as it is a scam. The fax number they use is either 585-324-7880 or 585-332-2007. There may be other numbers as well. It was a Dave Moore who faxed a request for a bunch of Fleet Guard Filters. He shows his E-mail as: davemoore25@outlook.com. Every couple months I see faxes or E-mails like this. They use many differant names as well.  Do not respond to to these people you could regret you did.

Just received a fax wanting to order original laser toner cartridges.  It was horribly worded and I smelled a scam right away.  Pathetic.

585-633-2849 - Same with the other reporters on here, it's a scam FAX. How it works is that scammer contacts a business and wants to order parts. Scammer then requests to pay via Credit Card, which is stolen, but not yet reported as stolen. Once the parts have been ordered, paid for via the as of yet unreported credit card, and then shipped, the scammer will report the card as stolen and the business who sold said scammer the parts is now out the parts, the shipping and the money is taken out of their account. While I never had it happen to our business, I've seen it happen to others. He stated that he would gladly give us his credit card information if we needed to order parts we did not have in stock. We declined his order via fax AND e-mail. I don't think he'll be contacting us any more.
