Robo-caller, probably FRAUD or possibly telemarketer calling apparently from this number, but it's not a working number. Avoid.

I get many calls from this number.  The first two times I answered I found myself speaking with John from the shipping department. He said he had a free Medic Alert System to send me. Medic Alert is one of the oldest of these type companies in the U.S. and is marketed by Connect America.  I told John that I have had a Medic Alert System for two years, and that he was a scam artist. I then cussed him out, and hung up.  He called right back and began talking as if I were not the person who had just cussed him out.  Repeated the cussing and hung up.  John called (or at least I was home when the call from MS came through).  Again the same BS.  I talked to John slowed as I walked to my porch off the kitchen where I knew my marine air horn was storred.  I told John that I had a medic alert system, that Connect America was aware of the scam he was running using their Trade Name, and that he was a criminal.  I then placed the air horn directly over the mouthpiece of the phone and gave him a 5 second blast.  Didn't hear from John for a few weeks.  But he's calling again.  Now I just ignore the calls.  Isn't even worth my blocking the number.  He'll just use another.  Everybody should own a Marine Air Horn (available in any marine supply store)!

No one has to be worried about the medic alert for seniors scammers, unless they are fooled into accepting the device they offer, and give them a credit card number. The scammers are only a pathetic group of druggies, who make their money for their disgusting habits by cheating the decent folks in society. Knowing your address puts you in no harm, they live nowhere where you live, and even if they did, they couldn't find your address in their drug- induced state. If it weren't for the fact that they are such pests, we could have pity on these poor souls. Drug addicts have BIG mouths, but very limited capabilities to perform any chore with their drug-addled brains, otherwise they would have a job, different than the one of sitting in a phone bank trying to cheat people to pay for their addictions.

Got a call and went to a person to ask that my name be taken off. He was very aggressive and scary and read my address to me to show he knew where I lived.

This is an illegal telemarketing robocall. The recording has been coming from many phone numbers. I would recommend not responding to this call in any way.

I can't imagine why yourself, or anyone else, would call back the medic alert for seniors scammers, after it has been thoroughly explained they are criminals, trying to cheat the elderly. What was your purpose?

We got a call from this number today at 5:53 pm and didn't answer. A message was left which was a recording made to sound like a live person. When I called back I heard another recording that the call couldn't be completed as dialed. This is the same as 601-398-9292, 601-398-9320, 601-398-9560, and 622-259-8471. I've added all of these numbers to my call blocker. They keep on using new numbers.

?wayne(?) I can't get a type of system you seen on TV. Looks like the system is been recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals. Let's see says here that the systems already been paid for. Looks like you're getting the system because you do yourself a friend or family member or maybe even someone you know who's experienced a fall in the past. So come again. It's already been paid for. So there's no cost to you whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping has already been paid...?

The following VoIP providers have selective call rejection for individual numbers:
voip.ms (also wildcard rejection -- you can reject entire area codes or parts of area codes if you want)
callcentric.com (simpler interface, high quality service, but a bit more expensive than others)
anveo.com (more complex, somewhat harder to figure out billing)
Google voice + Obihai Technology device (device can be used with any service, but Obihai teams up with Google voice to give this service for free, as long as Google is willing to do it, I suppose)

Also, if your current service allows you to do this, you can forward your calls from them to another service that provides selective call rejection -- IF the caller ID can also be sent to the other service correctly.  If you do this correctly and the calls can be forwarded to a SIP URI instead of a real phone number, you may be able to do what you want to do at a very low (or possibly no) cost, using the SIP URI provider's service to reject calls.

If you want to set up your own Asterisk box, you can do what you want, too.  Flowroute.com is sometimes recommended for that purpose, but they have no call rejection service of their own.  On the other hand, if you can set up your ATA the right way and it has enough storage for selectively forwarding numbers via flowroute, the unwanted caller will receive an out-of-service message and you won't get charged for an incoming call.

The advantage of rejecting calls via your VoIP if you do it correctly is, of course, that you not only will not be bothered by these calls, AND you won't be billed for an incoming call and never be aware that anyone ever called.

Nearly everyday.  Leaving my phone provider because they can't block individual numbers, anyone have any suggestions for a VOIP provider that will allow blocking of individual numbers?

This number calls and either leaves a message about some medical alert device or just hangs up when the answering machine gets the call.
