University of Phoenix recruiters now "masking" their outgoing calls as coming from 602-555-1212.

This number has called me numerous times today.

this number is calling all day long, one right after another. How can you stop it?

I just call a call from these people on my UNLISTED VoiP home phone. Just beeping when I picked up. How do you report to your Attorney General?

We ahve had 9 calls from this number in 2 hours. When I answer, all I hear is a beping sound like a fam amchine. I am ready for this to stop. They are also calling my cell phone.

This number keeps calling. Our cell and home phone. It started at 8:00 this morning and it is 11:00 and they are still calling. When I answer, all I hear is beeping like a fax machine. It is ridiculous! I am ready for this to stop!

Got 9 calls in the past 12 hours. I have no idea how they got my cell. I'm curious though, our church just implemented an intranet called The City. I know they have a lot of churches signed up. I wonder if they've been hacked.

I just called this number and it is Phoenix AZ directory assistance (like 411)!!  I have no idea why everyone thinks that it is a Cleaning Supply Co. (Piorneer Products)????

Just got a call from 602-555-1212 and I was listening to the answering machine when MUSIC started coming through....well, I answered the call and they hung up....I heard alot of people in the background and the caller saying "no one is home"    BAD CALL   --  very annoying!!!!!  This is a residence with retired couple living here.

They call our office just now and asked to speak to the person in charge of maintenance.  I told him I was the person he needed to speak to.  He stated he was responding to a card that we sent in, expressing interest in their products.  He wanted to send us a free clock radio as a gift.   I gave him a free dail tone instead.  I can clearly see how this game works.   Worse, this is about the third call we have received from Pioneer Products in the last three months or so.

The church I work at just got this call.  The guy asked for "the head of maintenance", which is not a job title we use here.  When I asked him what he was selling, he said, "we aren't selling anything, ma'am", and hung up on me.  Heh.  Guess I didn't sound like enough of a rube...

We got a call from this number, but when I answered with our family name (the church office is in our house), they hung up.

just got a call from this number at my work place.  When we answered, they just hung up.

Called but no one responded when answered.  went to this site and researched the number.  Thank you for letting me know what to expect when they call again.  I will be ready.

Got two phone calls from 1-602-555-1212

This number called us again this morning.  They wanted to speak to Pastor Jeff.  I asked who was calling and the caller said, "Peter".  He asked when he would be in, and I said who do you represent?  He said, "Pioneer".  I said, "we have your number.  We went on the internet and googled your number and you are a scam.  Furthermore, we are on a do not call list, and we will be reporting you."  "Peter" said no more and I humg up.  This is the same number that has been calling us for several weeks, but I do not think they will be calling us again, unless it is on another line.

Asked for person in charge by name.

This company is a scam.  The scam has a couple of different forms, but it basically works like this:

They call and ask for the person in charge of buying cleaning products.  When they get the name of that person, they send that person some kind of gift.

They also then send the church (they seem to target churches because of the average church's loose accounting protocols) some ridiculous order.  They put on the bill that it was ordered by "so-and-so" (whoever orders that stuff).  The bill then goes to the church book-keeper, who sees that the order was made by the correct person, and they pay it.

By paying it, you've now set yourself up for more orders in the name of the original person.

One church I pastored ended up with 144 urinal deodorizers this way.  The church has one urinal.  The church won't need to order any more for almost 20 years.  :)

Be sure to report it to your state's Attorney General.

And yes, they use a fake phone number for caller ID.  That IS the number for information in Phoenix.

We received a call just like the Presbyterian CHurch & the Methodist Church, and I asked if this was a telemarketing call and he said no, so then I asked him (his name was Paul Michaels) to hold on, and he hung up.

My experience is much like the Presbyterian Church. We (got a call for our pastor (by his first name which may have come from our website.) I told them I didn't think he was in and would check if he wanted to hold. He did for about a minute and hung up before I checked the pastor's and assistant's offices to see if he were there. The funny thing is that I told the secretary that it was John McCain's office for him. GMTA. LOL.

Caller ID says "Dir Asst AZ" which I assume is directory assistance from Arizona?  I wasn't home when they called.
