Just got a call from "Yakima Valley Credit Union" (located in Yakima, WA, where I live). First red flag: I don't have an account there. Second and most revealing red flag: Caller ID says Phoenix, AZ!!! Nice try, buddy. Remember, your bank will never call, automated, and then ask you for your pin number and all of that. NEVER GIVE THIS OUT OR YOUR MONEY WILL GO BYE BYE!! Hope this will help someone. I'm going to report this number right away.

Got this call at 5:45pm today (4/7). I didn't answer because I don't know anybody with a 602 area code. Figured if they knew me they'd leave a message. Tried calling back but no answer. I know these scams exist, but how did they get my phone number? It's a cell, not a landline.

I got this at 7:36am!! Didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. These types of calls at all hours need to be stopped!

Got a call today saying it a local credit union and that I was given $50 for being a customer. All they needed was my credit card number; I put in a fake(just made up) number and pin. It thanked me and said good bye....... lol

I got a call from this number also. I was on the other line and did not switch over. I have friends in Phoenix and thought it might be them so I returned the call right away with no answer. Whoever is on the other end does not pick up. Reading the forum here tells me it's a scam. Thanks guys!

I just got this call twice today, once from the 602-708-6912 # and then again it came up as just 216... Kinda crazy! Luckily I am not an idiot and realized that I didn't have an account at that Bank and just hung up. I hope something is done about this!

Got the same message as Tom, to the prepaid cell phone of a teenager.
Luckily, This lesson has been taught and the kid knew to hang up. Doesn't even have a debit card to have suspicious activity on!
It's a scam! Don't respond!

just got the same message
| Tom 2010-03-08 00:43:04 Unknown |
Answered the phone and it was an automated caller (from what didn't seem to be my bank) saying that my debit card was locked due to suspicious activity. It then said press 1 to be transferred to a representative. It then asked me to enter my 16 digit card number. Umm... yeah, right.
