I was searching this number as they advertised for office help.  I was surprised to find out that it's a suspicious number.  Here is the ad:-

Duties include helping Manager with: day to day tasks, phone calls, some filing and office organization involved. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. $11-$16 per hour. Fax resume to: 604-287-4008 or email campustech@live.com

I answered the first phone call and was asked to a survey and I said no thanks and hung up.  This number has called everyday since (about 1 week).  They won't leave a message but our voice mail picks up the call.  Today alone this number has called our house 7 times.  I tried to call the number back and a fax machine picked up.

You are an a**.  The reason why us "folks" are freaked out is because we are being lied to and taken advantage of.  We are poeple at home minding our own business and we get a phone call.  Trying to be polite we answer a few questions, the next thing we know we are 'winners' of something we didn't even enter to win.  Then some strange guy or 2 shows up at the most inconvenient time of day, supper and bath and bed time for my kids, so we can sit for 2 hours and listen to some demo that we had no interest in, only to find out that the product they are trying to SELL not GIVE away is outrageously expensive.  I mean come on, you're on here defending this s***, what's wrong with you?  I don't give a rat's a** if your husband is a good guy or not, what I care about is who is stupid enough to do home sales in the first place?

I said no, I am not buying your product and guess what?  I didn't recieve anything...so you call my house, inconvenient me for how long and then I get nothing?  This is going to be reported to the BBB, mark my words.  I hope your husband knows how to pump gas, because that's what he should be doing, at lest it is reputable and honest.  You should be ashamed of yourself for standing up for this company and for going this far to stand up for a scam.  It is a SCAM.

Really? Ive been in sales for years and I can tell you for sure that these tactices are sketchy.  For a reputable business and product, sales people don't have to 'entice' their customers with so called 'free products'.  If the customer does in fact recieve a 'free product' it would only be after a sale has been made and the price markups are done so that the 'free product' was bought and paid for by the customer.  Not to mention the fact that Alan has blatently screwed people over. A legitimate company would make it so that you can talk to any staff member there.  Id love to get in touch with someone there so if you have any info that would save the face of this company please let me know.

Business is great actually, I just so happen to be one of the folks that calls you people up all day and I am so tired of getting hung up on and told to take a hike that I had to post here. I want everyone to know that although you may not like the tactics, they are legitimate and they work. Please stop being rude to us on the phone. If I could find another job believe me I would, but I can't so I'm stuck with this and until then, I'd really like it if you all could just at least be a little more polite if you aren't interested.

You guys are still thinking it's all a scam eh? Goodness get your facts straight. Have you ever heard of direct sales? It's a huge industry that generates more income then you folks will probably ever see. Yes our salespeople make a nice commission, but why shouldn't they when they have to put up with fools like you? It's not easy going into the home of somebody you have never met before and trying to show them the merits of a product and why it's better than anything else out there.
For those who can't find any information on why it's better, or don't know why, it's because you're stupid and you didn't understand the presentation. Everybody who sees it who doesn't even buy it at least understands how it works differently than anything else out there and you know what? I don't care. Go continue using your $60 Bissels and Dirt Devils, keep blowing dead skin cells back into your faces and bury them deeper in your carpets. Don't complain to us when your children develop asthma and allergies from playing in dead skin and dust mite waste. Enjoy.

Just got a call from them today.

A lady phoned yesterday as well. I found out they are selling vacuum cleaners yesterday. When they phoned today I asked them to not call back I wasn't interested in buying a vacuum cleaner. I didn't know people were still trying to sell things this way.

They are rude and pushy and I have just told them repeatedly to not keep on calling here and that I looked up their number and found out they are selling vacuum cleaners in which they get really mad and hang up. They are looking for suckers to make big commissions off.
Why do they have to offer you free stuff? To get you in your door so they can swindle you. If they were truly amazing vacuum cleaners they would not have to do doing this to sell them. I have friends who did let the salesperson come to their house and was their for 5 hours and did the whole I'll knock the price down for you...I just talked to my price, they price is going to go up, there's no reading material I can give you and documented research and places you can go to confirm the "facts." Plus the "free nights at a hotel" thing couldn't even be used. They have been reported to BBB. Buyer Beware
They own the following numbers (that I know of thatyou can block:

Well, the demonstrater guy DID finally show up... an hour after the time we had set up. And to top it off he "forgot" my prize at the office.... claiming that he was not told which prize option we had chosen. However, we let him give the demo on the vacuum he was selling and we were quite impressed. And the guy (i won't give out his name for his privacy) was NOT sketchy at all. He seemed very normal and nice. My husband and I were very impressed with him (he was not pushy... and he didn't have to be. The vacuum is AMAZING) and impressed with the product. I really don't think this is a scam... but if it is, then i will feel totally stupid. please, if anyone else has had an experience similar to ours let me know... everyone else on this site has totally bashed this Campus Tech, and we were so cautious  (and i feel slightly rude) to the guy, thinking he was pulling our leg.

Survey
So i just got the call today that i won a prize 'cuz i did a survey a few weeks ago. I remember the survey and it seemed a little sketchy but nothing out of the ordinary. I normally don't even do these things but this time i did.... i recall being rude a bit 'cuz i really hate phone surveys.
Anyway, I had a choice between some gym trial thing or the 2 night 3 day stay somewhere. I opted for the trip... who wouldn't! And especially since my husband got laid off over 2 months ago its been really tight around here for money. we have a family, you know... mouths to feed. So I really hope they don't try and sell us something 'cuz we'll have no choice but to say no. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.... thats when they said they would come by to drop off our prize. By the way, I was even told on the phone by the girl that we would NOT be obligated to buy anything and that the guy coming by might just ask us some questions to get feedback about air pollution and stuff. I didn't get the impression that he would be doing a demonstration. Only now that i read all the posts am i a bit leery. Like i said... I'll find out tomorrow.

You don't get the warranties on the machines when you buy them on EBay, which is the biggest reason why they are so valuable. You can't get lifetime warranties on anything these days.

And, the reason why he seemed "pushy" was because you guys were in a hurry. He rushed through the presentation and the close, so he probably had this air of "get it done get it done" but if he didn't finish the presentation, he didn't get paid for it. That salesperson happens to be somebody I know well, and he's a good person, he's not sketchy at all.

It's because people don't keep their word, that's why they have this happen. When the people who do the shows and give the gifts get a show to go to, they might have a situation where the people don't answer, or cancel on them. It's a CRAPPY thing to do, but it happens, so in that instance, they have BACKUP shows (which you most likely were) so that they can still work. Otherwise that salesperson is left sitting someplace for the next slot of shows, which is probably two hours away. It's a waste of time for them.

Sorry, but if people kept their word that they'd be there when the salesperson showed up, then others like you wouldn't have to get screwed over. That's the nature of the world today.

You guys are pathetic. This isn't some scam. I've worked there and although it SEEMS sketchy, it's really not. MY fiance happens to be one of these salespeople and because of people like you who freak out and think everything's a scam he has hardly had any work. He can't FIND another job, and he hasn't been able to do shows for any people because you're all too scared to even let him come into your house. He's a wonderful, great person, who honestly gets paid a salary just to do the presentation. Of course he'd like you to buy it, but he's not pushy, he just wants to help people get the best deal they can.

So do you know WHY they have multiple phone numbers? MOST business with more than one phone line do. DOMINO'S PIZZA has four phone numbers for goodness sakes.

Do you know WHY they have to use these "sketchy" tactics? Because folks, you could line up these products with all the other vacuums out there and nobody would know just why it was more than the rest, just how it worked differently, or why it was better. It requires a personal demonstration to show you why it's better, there is NO better way to do it. Sure we could throw it up on TV but who would believe that? And who would let us into their homes if we just came up to your door and said "hey, can we spend an hour showing you a vacuum?" Get real.

You get the gifts for free, quit complaining. You have no idea how much of the price of these vacuums has to go into maintaining offices, covering the costs of all those gifts they GIVE AWAY to people who don't even buy the machines, and paying the people like my fiance who are just trying to earn a living.

EVERYBODY is just trying to earn a living in this world, and yes, Majestic, I know all about your situation. I know the salesperson who came to your place. I am sorry you had a bad situation and there was some bad judgement used.

I'd just like it if you folks took the time to realise that there are some actual decent salespeople and others out there trying to run a business, and trying to get by. We are going broke because he can't get to go to shows because too many people think we're trying to scam them, and it's very sad. Please think about the people, your own neighbours and perhaps even acquaintances, before you shut them down.

I won't agree that ALL of the people in this business are very nice, but they aren't trying to scam anybody and having done the sales presentations myself, I know they won't try and force you into anything. All they do is see if they can get a deal, and go through all the options, before they leave. And they don't keep their jobs if they don't sell some, so for those who can afford it just fine, help us out. We are struggling in a broken economy too.

Yes, recieved a call telling us that we had won a prize for doing the survey, and my husband decided to take the BBQ, they said they would drop it off at 5:30pm that night, well nobody showed up. The next day they called again saying that they would be there at 5:30pm, then said they could not make it, they would be there the following night. At 5:00pm they said they were on there way and at 5:30pm a call came saying they were having car trouble. Then they arrived at 7:15pm. I was expecting the BBQ but he came in and said could we do this in the family room. I said do what, he said the demostration. I said I was not aware of a demostration. Didn't they tell you, I said no. All I was told we won a BBQ and that you were delivering it. Oh we ran out of BBQ, my boss is on his way to get one now. He should be here soon. So we proceeded to demostrate, Took over 2 hours. Then nobody eles showed up and he left with out saying anything eles about the BBQ. I called and they said a guy would deliver one. Nobody showed up. What a bogus thing.

These people came to my door doing a survey, but the questions were really strange, pets, children, etc., And that was it.  But then I got a call from them yesterday saying I won the draw that my name was entered into, and I could either choose from a trip to kelowna, jasper, or kelowna or an indoor bbq.  She said that they would send a guy (she said "We'll probably send Brian, he's really cool") here to ask me some questions about some products that he has.  She asked me if my husband would be home, she said she had to ask me that in case he answers the door.  I thought that was very strange.  So I talked to some people here and everyone said it seems very suspicious so I tried researching this company and came across this blog.  Which is good, because I dont want them coming here wasting my time.  Especially since I have 3 kids at home that would be hanging off me.  So thanks for putting this up!

This post was just done this week ... as a result of them forging our initials on the paperwork, then ripping it up and saying nothing was wrong and it was just a practice sheet, he still wanted to do business with us. Said he'd sell us the USED vacuum at a demonstration price ... should've been sold at that price anyways since it was used when it was delivered to us.

Tell her to quit and find a better job. She will be out of work in a few years anyways as they will ruin the economy around them. It's common for these types of salesmen to do that in the area and pack up and go elsewhere.

The salesman was not impressed with us as he came to the door seeking a void cheque and ended up leaving with the vacuum.

First off, I'm young and was a bit curious about this, I've learned, and will find out the outcome in a few days.

I answered the phone one day and did the stupid survey thing, thinking they wouldn't call back. They kept calling while I wasn't home, wouldn't leave a message or anything for my roommate. When I did answer the call, they told me I won a trip (2 night 3 day to a few choice LOCAL locations), or an indoor BBQ set. I was asked if I remembered doing the survery and I said no, also said I wasn't sure what I wanted had to talk it over with my fiance, the lady said they'd bring both to my house the following day. I asked what I needed to do to receive these items, during that call I was told nothing, I called them back to verify a time, and was told there would be a short presentation about 2 air quality products. A few red flags there.

The following day my fiance and I watched this demo about an air purifier (which we both thought really sucked!!) and the Filter Queen vacuum (amazing vacuum, avail on Ebay for less than half the price ... even after the exchange and duty). The presentation went on for quite a while, said I wanted to think about it ... guy said if we didn't take it then, then we'd lose out. I didn't really care because I can buy it full price after looking into the product, didn't feel too comfortable. Another red flag.

Fiance and I ended up agreeing to get the vacuum, great for the family and everything (that part is really true, it is an amazing product), the salesperson was a bit sketchy, and very pushy. I felt uneasy, but since we used our cell numbers, the salesperson was supposed to contact us seperatly (as my fiance and I have opposite work schedules), to figure out what time would work best for all 3 of us. He seemed very eager to drop off the vacuum and pick mine up (part of the trade program)... the paperwork was incorrect, and they had stuff on the papers that we didn't put there ourselves. I was with my roommate at the time, so there was a witness.

Showed the paperwork to my fiance the other day (as we have a ripped up copy from the salesperson), he swore to me he didn't fill in the things I noticed, and he was very curious about some other things. I went to work, my fiance went to see Alan, the boss in the office, found out the address on the paperwork is a P.O. Box ... The number they called me from was 604-287-4001 ... when I returned the call from my cell it was 604-287-4004 ... beware of all the numbers.

They are showing a great product, which again, you can buy on Ebay at a fraction of the cost, but don't deal with these people. I hope someone else learns from my mistake.

Well I have an update to this.. I also answered the survey a couple of weeks ago (quite suspiciously because I agree the questions were weird). They offhandedly mentioned something about a possible prize once it was done.

Just got a call today and supposedly I "won" either a smokeless indoor bbq or a trip to Kelowna, Washington, or somewhere else.. two nights stay but you have to get yourself there. She even said I could have both until we decided. Sounded like a certain draw I "won" from a bridal show a few years ago.. which ended up being a stupid timeshare thing. So I just told her I wasn't interested in either. She sounded shocked and speechless "but.. you won a prize.." "Yeah sorry, not interested, thanks".

But now I want to get a dog..

We'll I answered it.  The questions were simple and short but my antennea were up.  It sounded like they were casing the joint.  One question was whether there was an animal in the house.  They were concerned that I confirm the phone number they had called and it's location.  They called back an hour or so later to try to confirm the location.

Called at 12:25pm today.  I answered and the caller asked if I was the owner of the house. I said no.  He asked if he could speak to the owner and I said no.  Then he asked if I was renting and I said no.  That seemed to confuse him and the call ended shortly thereafter.  I looked up this number on yellow pages.ca and it comes up as a business in Mission, BC.  I'm guessing he may have wanted to do a survey or poll.
