Yup another scam number.  Called me like 3 times a month.  Never picked up to see but they never left a message or anything.  Is this suppose to be telemarketers???  Its annoying!

Just called and wanted to know my eBay user ID and what I sell on eBay.

Just spoke with eBay Customer Support on live chat. And the Support said that

"eBay is an Online Company, as far as I know we do not provide Phone Support, nor we call our eBay Members"

I suggest that you change your password ASAP, because the person that just called me few moments ago, knew my name, and of course the phone so if you did not receive an e-mail from eBay, (automated one) that someone requested your information's its very likely that this person that called you, knows your password already.

It's a real call from ebay, but the number is always busy if you call back.

It was Ebay Trust and Safety.  They called to tell me a few of my auctions were being pulled because I violated Ebay rules and listed names of future auctions in these auctions.  They gave me a chance to retrieve information before auctions disappeared from Ebay.

FRAUD!!

My credit card number was stolen and this number has something to do with an EBAY fraud ring. If they call you check your credit card accounts as they usually sign up for different foreign email accounts as well.

Relax.  It's a legit call.  I was on online support with eBay yesterday, and the rep said she'd call me a minute later.  She did, from that number.  It's fine.

I received a call from the same number. Talked with them and stressed my concerns about the call being a possible scam and the warnings we are all so familar with while utilizing ebay. When I refused to answer their questions they said that alternative measures would be taken against my acount, and they reassured me they wouldnt need any passwords or sensitive information. Just simply my user ID and one item I was selling for cross reference purposes....As soon as I answered the question they hung up on me...How rude!!

It is a scam! Ebay is not in the business of calling people. Do not talk to these people. If ebay calls you, it has to be from a toll free number.

I got a call from this number and I hung up as the caller was asking for personal ebay information...

This number called to me, and they said they from ebay, and she asked about items on ebay what's item its mine? and i said ebay not call to anybody and then she hang up the phone!!!

They Called me and asked me what i was selling on ebay, then said ok, and hung up

Just recieved a call from this number and it got disconnected.

They Called me at 2:55 AM!!! then when I called back the number was busy, since none of my accounts have my home phone number and we did purchase an ebay item yesterday, my guess is they fish the names of winners throught a phone search and then cold call the house.

I got a call from this phone, seems in Canada, tried calling back no answer, weird whatever it is, they just call when you pick up they hang up/. seems FRAUD to me.

THey called said they were from ebay customer update they wanted to change my password and then now I cant get on and things are changed around Dont talk to this guy he is a scam artist all my $ is gone.

It's NOT a scam, it's a legit call.  Relax.

I was on eBay online support yesterday; I had password issues.  Through the chat window, the rep said she'd call me to verify my identity.  She did, a minute later - from (604) 297-8999.  It's fine.

I JUST RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM 604-297-8999, AND THE PERSON WAS ASKING FOR ME MY EBAY UID AND WHAT I CURRENTLY SELL ONLINE.

1. I SPOKE ON A LIVE CHAT WITH EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND THE SUPPORT SAID:

"EBAY IS AN ONLINE BASED COMPANY, WE DON'T CALL OUR MEMBERS", PERIOD!

2. EBAY SUPPORT IS LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA, NOT IN AREA CODE 604 BRITISH COLUMBIA - CANADA!

3. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD, DO NOT FALL INTO SCAMS LIKE THIS AND DO NOT TRUST THOSE WHO WROTE THAT 604-297-8999 IS AN EBAY SUPPORT PHONE # OR FOR THE OTHER DUDE THAT PRETENDS TO WORK FOR EBAY.

ALL SCAM, ALL CHEAP LIE.

i received a call last night from this number - they did not leave a message - i was researching to see who would be calling me from british columbia!  seems quite suspicious to me!

One time they call me and leave a message...which is ebay.  The other time nothing.  I do shop on ebay but why would they want to call me?

I work for ebay and it is ebays phone number

Called and said one of my auctions violated ebay policy and to check my emails from ebay.  If the number does belong to ebay, seems very suspicious.  I have no emails from ebay.
