Just received a call from 604-678-9476 he claimed to be from Microsoft wanted a bunch of info about our PC we in turn hung up and proceeded to call our service provider that will then contact Microsoft please do not give these idiots any of your info and do not click on the website

Just received call saying that with Windows technical department. Told me I had downloaded malicious junk files which would corrupt my system and was my computer on right now? They could fix it for me. Name Sean Williams 2889 -----  coquitlam bc. ID 619 gave call back number as: 0061-390-169389.  
Has my internet providers security missed this one?

This number phoned about a recent baby that I had, somehow got that information, we might have put our name in a draw at a baby store or something

Received call from this number and was told that someone was hacking into my computer - he said his name was Frank Smith which was a complete give away as the caller had a heavy accent (perhaps east indian?) he wanted me to start my computer and said he'd guide through some procedure to make my computer safe from hackers or at least twart the hacking attempts.
I told him I'd contact the police department to report that someone was hacking into my computer asked fro his phone number: he gave me two - 604-678-9476 which was the original (re-dialed but got a busy signal) and another 604-914-9884 ( when dialed got a "not in service" announcement).
As many of you who have written with your experiences regarding  or the other number it is a scam to obtain information to steal identities. Thanks to all of you for your comments and warnings.  

Got a call from these guys today. It was kinda funny because he said that they are from Windows and my computer is full of viruses. Now, I have 5 computers, and the funny part was when I asked him which computer was he talking about he said, and I quote - "the Windows one".  I told hime that windows is an operating system and not a computer brand he got very quiet and hung up.  Don't trus these guys they are trying to test if the person they are calling has a basic understanding of computers.  If they get lucky and someone like my mom answers the phone, they would have probably have her give out a remote admin access to her computer. Be carefull, they are very pushy!

Tried to tell me he was calling from MS Windows and my PC was giving off a signal that there was some trojan virus and if I was near my PC I should turn it ON and they can walk me through repairing the virus.
Duhh if my computer is giving off some signal would they not know if it's even turned on? Anyway what a pile of crap. Should be reported to police but there is no way to track these people.
This number must be a trunk line, seems to be used by various idiots trying to get money from who ever answers on the other end.

I also received a call at 9:45pm from this number that just said British Columbia and as I did not recognize the number I did not answer -
these numbers never leave a message so it is scammers or telemarketers

They called again just now.  Didn't they take the hint when I didn't pick up yesterday?  Anyway, I no pick up.

This # called me this morning and said there was a problem with my Microsoft.  I told them that I was unable to talk and ask them to call back.  The man then got really beligerent and started to yell at me.  I hung up.

This number comes up but no name shown.  Didn't answer and there was no message on the answering machine.  Guess they hung up right away to try to get the next person.  Well, they didn't get me........

Just received a call from this number calling themselves BC Business Profiles and claiming to be able to put my business listing at the top of website listings. I unfortunately gave them my business name and contact information before it was too late. I started to realize that something was up and asked them if they had a website or contact information - and without it, I was very uncomfortable with their phone call.

DON'T give them any info. I fortunately didn't give them any financial info - but it makes me very uncomfortable to say the least!

This number is a long distance carrier card. When people use a phone card to place a long distance call this is the number that comes up but it is connected to the card not the caller.  My son has been away and when he calls me using a phone card this number comes up but in his case it is a legit call.  I would say any "business" related calls connected to this number would be worthy of questioning because they could be calling from anywhere in the world.

Received a call from 604-678-9476 at 9:18pm - June 9, 2013 from woman with an East Indian accent. She started to talk about Windows on my computer.  I knew it was the typical phone scam and hung up.  I wish there were a way to stop these fraudulent phone calls.

I got a call from this # and its just go to beeps

unsolicited call at 10:35 Feb 9 - I said hello 3 times and a very sweet recorded female voice said goodbye.  Who was it?  No listings found by telus reverse phone book.

A male called from 604-678-9476 at 6 a.m, claiming it was the 'Windows Service Centre' and they had received messages from my computer that detected malicious spyware and viruses and asked if I was aware of the problem. I said I did not have Windows; he said 'our mistake our research made an error'.

some idiot scammer. Starts asking about my Microsoft computer.  these third world idiots manage  to scam anyone .

They are now claiming to be Microsoft calling about a computer sending out junk mail.  hang up.

Got a call from this number saying my windows computer had major problems and they wanted to take control to show me how badly it was infected when i told them windows was not on my computer they hung up. MAJOR SCAM.

caller with broken english said they were from microsoft said I was getting viruses from my computer, i told them I don't know who the **** they were and to stop calling.

also received call from above no (I tried *69) but left no message,  as I do not have any connection with CIBC and no account there it is mysterious.

I received a call from this number today. The person said she was Sarah and was calling about my computer. I knew immediately that this was a SCAM call. I said I was not interested and hung up.

Do not answer calls from this number!

Surely there must be some way of putting a stop to these people!

Wife got a call trying to sell us a GE home security system seems a little weird we havent even been in our house for a month and when we lived in an apartment we never received a call like that and our phone number hasn't changed

Got the same call, just hanged up - tried calling back but you get 'busy beeps'!
