Abandoned Call

A woman started speaking before I could give a hello...saying she would like to talk to the person who handles the At&t phone services.  I asked her if she was with At&t and she said is with Preferred but handles the At&t accounts.  I told her if that were true you would know who to ask for.  I told her not to call back and hung up.

1st call from 605-242-2085, saying upgrading AT&T outdated lines, at  no cost, and wanting Social Security information. Said 2nd call would confirm -605-242-2085 - installation. Second caller then attempted to upgrade to bundle..total scam.  These numbers are being forwarded to FBI and anyone else I can think of to identify these people...they are NOT part of AT&T...yes, I confirmed.

She called my business phone and when I answered she said she had the wrong number and hung up.

Received a call stating they were working with Windstream to lower costs, but only in a particular city. Said they were Nebraska Telecom. When I started to inquire with questions, she had good answers until I asked for a phone number to call her back at. Then she hung up. Beware of this one!

This number has been calling me for months. They are so deceitful. They are liars.

They don't answer, just get a click once I pick up the phone line. Why can't they stay on the line so I can cuss them out?

A woman wanting to speak to our person who handles our AT&T account. I told her to call corporate.

This company is called Preferred, and yes, they are trying to take your business away from AT&T or the phone company you currently use. I found out about this when I called our phone provider, AT&T who told me they are in a lawsuit with Preferred and that AT&T gets reports about Preferred daily. If you have the time, report the calls to your phone company and also file a complaint with the FTC. The more complaints, the more pressure to get this type of thing handled.

My office received a call from 605 area code today.  Even though they have never called from this number before, THEY WERE BLOCKED.

For my business lines, we have the DIGITONE CALL BLOCKER (thru Amazon).  This little device not only blocks individual numbers but, it can block ENTIRE AREA CODES!!!

We have had the ENTIRE 605 AREA CODE BLOCKED for months.  We used to receive calls from 605 301-7240.  

For my home line, I have the new Panasonic phone that blocks 250 numbers.  Neither my home nor my business lines ring when a blocked call comes in.

No more calls from the 605.  Buy a call blocking phone or device.

The lady says she is from Century Link and that they are going to drop the $15.00 month access fee to our line in order to not lose customers to other companies.  Sounded like a scam and I told her I didn't believe her and hung up.  The name was blocked.

Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. I told her that AT&T doesn't call unless the bill is late, and to never call me again. She didn't say a company, just that she was calling about rate changes for AT&T long distance. I fell for this once about 10 years ago and realized quickly it was a scam and had AT&T undo it for me. I doubt they will listen about the don't call me again, but won't ever fall for their scam again.

Called saying they represented ATT.  They'll lower our phone bills by removing $12.50 / line / month phone company taxes.

When i told them we only had one line, they hung up abruptly

they are a 3rd party scammer saidng they were hired by AT&T, sorry lady, my wife works for AT&T Corp and said you are lying, AT&T does not hire 3rd party companies to do what the AT&T aremy does all day every day.  Their Caller id shows NOSIOUX CY.

dead air guess i was the lucky one after reading the above comments just wonder how people keep getting away with this. headed to the fcc website for the second time today to file a complaint against these crap calls to our business office  sigh :(

She hung up on me when I asked her for our account number.  I said if you are with Centry Link then you have our account number so what is it and I got a click she hung up.

I have been getting the same call for the past two days.  They keep insisting and I keep saying no thank you.

when i new they were SCAMMERS they called me a @#@#$@@ and hung up !!!!!!

This number called and asked for someone who does not live here and then hung up. Very weird.

I spoke with AT&T about these people calling and saying they were with AT&T.  Did you know that you can have them put a block on your phone that won't allow anyone but YOU to change your long distance?  Call them and get it done so that there is no way for them to change it.  

I always make them mad when I tell them that I am on a contract with AT&T and that there is no possible way to change it.

SCAMMERS!  caller ID says Nosioux CY SD.  If they ask you if the sky is blue....DO NOT SAY YES.  
They will manipulate their recordings to swap you from your existing phone service to their scam.  They claim they are working for AT&T and that there was a recent rate increase.  One would think AT&T could do something about these calls.  We get them many times a week!

JERKS hung up on my business answering machine.

Called on my business line. Answered, but no one there. IDed as something in ND.

I just got a call from this number.
Says he is Travis with Prefered Long Distance.
That they are going to lower all the charges for small buisness lines to $12.95 a month instead of $30.00 for each line.
He said that when we pay ATT they inturn pay Prefered Long Distance.
I dont by it.

Same ole same ole - telling me that "cenhturylink has re-negotiated with at&t and my phone bill will be going down...has anybody told you that.  Do you have special services like caller id and I bet you don't make many long distance calls do you."  RED RED FLAG.  I declined to respond to any questions and ended with...I'll wait for my provider to contact me" without saying who the provider was.  This number is now on my BLOCKED LIST.  I only answered 'cause sometimes I'm just in the mood to hang up on them.

Same as everyone else is reporting. This guy said his name was Adam. I have an unlisted phone number. I want to know how he got my number. He knew my name and everything. That really pisses me off.
