Okay...I did some research and here's the skinny. It is a 'non-profit' named Cancer Support Services, soliciting donations by telemarketing. I received a call from a SD number, their website gives a (313) number Knoxville, TN. and CharityNavigator has them listed with an (888) in Dearborn, MI.

Meanwhile, they requested the donations go to Merrifield, VA. Too much going on for me and Charity Navigator had some pretty bad reviews...make your own decisions.

Same as Kay (30JAN13), answered phone to about 5 seconds of silence. Finally responded with a request for the home owner...stated that they were calling about 'a charitable pledge' they'd made; however refused to leave a name and/or number to be reached. (?)  I don't know, if they were legit...why not leave contact info?

got a call yesterday from this number and dead silence for over 3 minutes and the same thing today. i call the number back and it rings 1 time and then silence.
