I have received at least eight different attempted calls from eight different numbers from Kentucky, Oregon, to Florida.  All numbers hit on scams about vehicle warranty expirations from other people.
 My theory is that these people have bought lists of automobile owners whose vehicle's warranties have indeed expired.  I think the culprit is our previous warranty company - anyone remember the original warranty-provider for their vehicle purchase.  GM was the lender.

Ditto previous answers - but does anyone know if it is legal for them to be calling your cell number?  And it is nice to have a place to vent - but blog or no blog - where/who do we contact to get this officially looked into.  the "do not call list" is a great concept but the loop holes the menancing morons use is ridiculous.

Had a missed call a couple of hours ago today. Called back and was told number had been disconnected.

I just missed a call from this number looked it up on good old google and saw all this, don't think I will be calling them back...maybe I will let my 7 kids yell at them when they call ;)

Just got a call.  Auto loan scammers phishing for cc#'s.  Has anyone found out what their real number is?

I just got my third from this number - am glad I google'd it (thought it was a misdial the first few times since I don't know anyone in that area code).
I'm pissed off and think that anyone who is reading this forum should file a complaint.  For the people who actually listened to the sales pitch - anyone have the name of the business?  Their true phone number?  They need to be taught a lesson.

These jerks keep calling me on my cell phone about car warranty. When I select option 1 to be taken off their list I get a call again in about a week. If I select option 2 and get a person they have no idea what cars I own and say they will take me off their list. They just called again and I asked the guy to take me off the g*d dam list and he tole me "I was a fu**king pussy and hung up." Nice. Where is Dateline when you need them. Of course if you call the number that called you back 606-297-2865 it says it is disconnected.

I too am happy I did not answer! I just got the number they called me on. The only place I have listed my new number is on my resume postings.

I'm so glad I am a skeptic and come straight to the internet!

I got the call and did not answer because i did not recognize the number.  I tried to call it back once i got to work but got the no longer in service recording.  I thought i tried to call back a couple times because i thought i was tripping and then decided to look it up and found this.

The call came to my cell phone today.  They said I needed to renew the factory warranty on my car.  My car is used, and I have a 3rd party warranty.  I went through  the phone menu to the point where, I finally got through to a "customer service rep."  The first words out of his mouth were, "make and model of you vehicle?"  I immediately asked for the person on the phone to identify which company he represented as the phone system did not identify which company I was in contact with.  I heard background conversation that did not sound like something you'd here at a business, even water cooler talk.  After a moment, I was hung up on.

Got a call from them answered and press 1 to talk to someone i tried to ask them who they were and they hung up on me i looked up the people the phone number was register to Kayla Kestner and Cassie Kestner <found on google> on myspace.com and they have websites a 15 & 16 yr old girls their sites are set to private but thats if thats really them and not fake personas

I find it rather odd that the phone number is registered to both of them indicating a home phone, on myspace it did show their ages as 15 and 16 so i dont think the scam is just using their number, i think they are fake personas because why would a 15 year old and a 16 year old live by themselves? why not have it registered as their parents' name? way to screw up scammers, think that people would go lighter on minor females? doesnt work if they are fake >=P

Just received a call from 606-297-2865 on my cell phone.  My cell phone is an AT & T Go Phone - prepaid so I am not listed in a directory.  I did not recognize the number so did not answer (it costs me money to answer).  Called received at 10:17 am on August 26, 2008.

I keep getting calls from this number also - I spoke to the representative and asked her first not to put the phone down I wanted to find out what she was looking for - then when I asked her not to call me again he said 'have a nice day' and put the phone down!! Wicked annoying! Is there a way to block the number?

Got a call yesterday, caller refused to mention name, asked who he was calling for, hung up while I was screaming: take me off your list (they're in violation, I'm on the do-not-call list).  Got a call again on my other line, this time a nice lady who was polite, stated she was calling on behalf of "warranty express services" and explained they sold extended warranties on your car.  Told her to take me off the list.  She said: "will do, thank you" and hung up.

just got the call. pressed '1' to speak with the agent. after she asked for my car info (I don't own one), i asked to be taken off their call list.  she said 'okay and quickly hung up'.
hopefully that is the end.

they have been calling me for months. This should be illegal.

they just called my cell # today, and left no message.  The car warranty scam idea gives me an idea though.  Has anyone else had their car serviced ???? ( I went to a Firestone yesterday)

I got the same call just act liek you are crying cause you had no idea that your car wasnt under warranty, and its at the dealership right now...then start really sobing...hahahaha they will get irritated and just hang up

Didn't pick up but recieved this call on August 25, 2008.

I've been receiving numerous calls of this type. Got fed up so I purchased a fog horn from sporting goods dept at Walmart to use when the next call comes in. I think if we all do this, it might work on stopping this crap from continuing.

Just got a call from this number(8/25 11:37 PDT).  Didn't pick up.

That number called me twice, first on 8/21 at 6:44 PDT, the last one just now (8/25 11:14 PDT).

There was no Caller ID name for the calls, but Google Phone Book shows the number is registered to Cassie and Kayla Kestner in Staffordsville, Kentucky.
