New York Vietnam Vets 1-607-821-4927

I was called at 6:36 PM (dinner time) on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. I picked up the call while I was in my kitchen.
A male caller asked for me by name. I asked him who was calling. He responded so quickly, I didn't catch his name. He quickly went on to say that he was calling on behalf of ACS, I believe it was. I asked - What is ACS? I believe his quick response was "Associated Community Services". I tried to ask him why he was calling me (as I am on the Do NOT Call list in NYS) but this fast talking young fellow just talked right over my questions to him - almost nonstop.
Yes. He was one RUDE dude. Definately NOT soliciting for any legitimate organization other than his own wallet. He ended with - "Can I send you a pledge form?' I told him he could do whatever he wanted with his pledge form. After the call was completed, I checked my caller ID which indicated "607 821-4927 / New York Vietna". Horse manure. A google check of that telephone brings me directly to your 800 Notes web site, which has 19 very similar postings - a FAST Talking, rude MALE telemarketer - all since January 2013. Why can't anyone in law enforcement get this guy?

Called during dinner but no voice message was left. The URL for a New York Vietnam Veterans Foundation, Inc. is http://www.nyvietnamvets.org but you get a 404 error, page not found while connecting. They are located in Sidney, NY which is South of Norwich and West of Oneonta and (607) 563-2901 is their phone number per https://www.fundraise.com/non-profit/sidney-n ... rporated#donate. They claim to be a legitimate non-profit organisation on the guidestar.org web site. Their income/expense sheet on that site is dated 2011 and they will show you 990 forms from the IRS as late as 2011 - nothing from 2013. Another fund raising phone number listed for giving to the organisation is through First Giving at (877) 365-2949 or email support@firstgiving.com. The comment on First Giving web site (http://www.firstgiving.com/73048/fundraisers) for this organisation is "There are no fund raisers" and it is dated 2014. The deductibility limit is 50% per their EIN 11-3173156 IRS listing. So based on that information, if you want to donate to this organisation, call them first (at their number) and confirm that they are currently raising money. It may be a scam or, since Vietnam was going on in the late 1960's, there may still be Veterans alive and in need in New York State.

Called on 01/10/2014 @ 05:43 PM from Binghamton, NY. No message left. Caller ID shows "New York Vietna" This is a long running scam from various (607) numbers. This scam resurfaces once a month or so.

It's really too bad people fall for this crap. If you want to donate go right to the American Legion. Buy a ticket to the Policemen's Ball. Call you local Fire Dept. for information. Please..please, don't give your hard earned money or credit card information to ANYONE, on the phone, or knocking on your door. And please make sure your elders are protected. Tell them about these scams.
God bless, and Happy New Year, everyone.

Got a call tonight, they didn't leave a message 607-821-4927 I reported the number and what they are doing to the Vietnam Veterans of America, who do have quite a few NY Chapters, and maybe they can help get rid of this annoyance.

Collecting for wounded vet's. When I said, "I am a disabled veteran", he said ... "So how much would you like to give today?" Sorry, but I think I have given enough.

This man called when I wasn't home, was rude to my mother and said he would not leave a name or message when my mom politely asked! I never donate over the phone, so he was barking up the wrong tree from the start, but his manner was not trust inspiring...
I had no idea what this was about so I looked up this number... happy to have found this site. I will adding it to my favorites.

Collection agency trying to locate someone and they are spoofing their caller ID that will show on your caller ID to mislead you.
My advice: block the number or don't answer or allow to go to voice mail and then delete

We get calls all the time from this place... usually a different number all the time, but they always ask for "George". I keep telling them to take my number off the list and stop calling... they do from one number then on to another number.

I just got this call. I swear this is a recorded voice played by a computer programmed in voice recognition. They want money (of course) for New York Vietnam Vets. When I pressed for simple information he said " well OK thank you for your time" and hung up. Hmmmm. Sounds like a scam to me.......

Got call from this B**** last night. When he wouldn't shup up, I gave him a shrill whistle. He shut up quickly, told him to never call again. He called me again this morning, on my cell phone at work! This time I went to my cell phone provider and blocked the number. Since it was the same 604-821-4927 number calling me everytime, I'm hoping it'll work.
