These callers seem to have very low IQ's.
ME 2014-06-16 02:56:16 Unknown
We need to find these people, and speak in person. The phone company knows who they are. Why are they protecting them ? What about us ?

Called and hung up when I answered.

A web search for "test credit card numbers" will find some numbers that will pass first level verification and so appear valid to any validation software they may have, but are not actual numbers and will be rejected at the CC company check. Add to that a fake expiration, made up CVV, phone number for Capital One. When they want your name and address, give them the info for the local FBI office. For extra points, give the real name of someone at the local FBI office. I keep all this information on a slip of paper in my wallet. :)

The recorded message claims they're with Discover card card services. When I pointed out that they were scammers, they called me a stupid c**t, and disconnected. Today they called again, and when I pointed out I was called a stupid c**t, they said "multiple companies are calling, who did you speak to", I said Discover card services, they said they're not Discover card services, I said that's what the message said, and she said "that's why you're a stupid f*****g c**t" and hung up again. Klassy.

Continuous call from this number!
seniorabuse 2014-06-09 21:48:53 Unknown
Great - why don't we all compile the numbers we each have on caller ID. everyone make a copy, and keep adding the numbers and forward to the FCC, and contact all State agencies as laws are different in each state. It might be worth a Forever stamp to flood them with mail. There just has to be a way to put a stop to this.
Charles 2014-06-09 21:41:47 Unknown
When I answer they don't respond. Only silence. They hang up after around 15 seconds. If I call back its a fake number. SCUM!!
senior abuse 2014-06-09 21:41:12 Unknown
You are so right, I like you politely asked to be removed from calling list as people are ill here. You never get chance....so where is the FCC. This is harrassment in the first order.
senior abuse 2014-06-09 21:38:04 Unknown
Nothing works and shame on our government that allows business to be conducted this way. Even if you press 5 when it is available to opt out, they just keep on calling. We have child abuse, senior abuse, and if someone could intelligently tell me why they persist in calling back all hours of day and night when one does not have credit debt is beyond my comprehension. Even if you are on do not call list, that is another misnomer, it is shameful. They should pass a law on all this robot calling. Where are our elected officials when we need them.

another good tool to avoid these idiots on mobile phones is the app Call Control. It is $8 but the best money I have ever spent on an app.
Cue 2014-06-06 21:54:31 Unknown
Incorrect. CC#s, SS#s, DOB constitute an identity when all of the bits correspond to a single individual. Numbers with reversed digits or made-up sequences are simply strings of random numbers.

CREDIT CARD SCAMMERS AGAIN
Don't these people have anything worthwhile in life to pursue? I guess not. I think this call was just trying to verify my number was still active since there was no recorded message and no response. Most of the time, if I can, I will string them along, give them a fake name and fake credit card number, everything. They spend a few minutes of their time trying to verify it...hehe. Then they come back and say they can't verify. Then I play dumb, like, "Oh really? Maybe I gave you one wrong digit in the credit card number. Let's try it again..." If they are stupid enough, they will go for it and waste more their own time. Eventually they either figure it out and hang up or I tell them how dumb they are in the end and how they shouldn't be playing with people, or people will play with them.
It really is a sick game. There really needs to be more investigation done on these scum, and they need to be arrested and thrown into prison with telephones where they receive constant daily unwanted phonecalls.

i tell them that i just got a bj from their mother the night before
Zoran 2014-06-06 14:19:14 Unknown
I have a feeling that calls from this number are to verify if the number is still alive, then you get a call from them from another if their phone numbers...

The NSA has better things to do than protect you, the citizen, from fraud. They have their hands full spying on political enemies of the current administration.

ready to go prision 2014-06-05 15:57:37 Unknown
Day I trace them i will not wait to put them in ground. If I can do something good for so many people it is OK to take them out of this world.
trash talker 2014-06-05 15:52:06 Unknown
answer and talk to them. give all trash talk to them and let them realise that we all know that they are scammer. when they get close to 100% response like this they may drop this scam. they will come out with new one and we have to do same thing again.

THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.
THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.
RETALIATE:
Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.
After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke.
REDUCE THE MISERY:
Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a free feature many providers offer, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, automatically hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.
Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.
HAVE FUN:
Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.

Same scam with a different number. As a bit of an experiment, I have made it a point in the last 2 weeks, several dozen calls, to be professional with them and request that they place me on their internal do not call list. The typical response is for them to hang up mid-sentence on me with about 1 out of 6 throwing in a swear word. These are the most etiquette lacking individuals I have ever encountered.
Beerslave 2014-06-04 17:27:19 Unknown
Press '1'. Then make sure you rattle off some really offensive statements right when they pick up, just before they have the chance to hang up. It's a good way to relieve your stress..
