Got a call and a youngish sounding man said he was from PECO and was calling to verify our new lower rate.  Told me to get out my bill and confirm my information with him. I told him it doesn't work that way - he should confirm with me, not the other way around.  He told me there was a 1-800 number he would give me at the end of the call to confirm everything. Asked for my name and account number - I asked for the 1-800 number and then he hung up.  Dialed back the number and it says it is disconnected.

Same here.  Quite annoying.  Any ideas how to stop this?

Oh, and it was a male, I'd estimate beween 30 - 40 years of age. English speaking. No accent.

They called and were very aggressive and hostile. Wanted to know who serviced the PECO Account.
Told them my wife and I.  "Well, which is it? You or your wife?"
I said, what seems to be the problem?
"Problem? Did I say a problem?"
I said, Unless you tell me what this is about, I'm hanging up.
"Hang up? I'm the one that's gonna hang up on you."

Received a very rude, annoying call from this phone number today, Monday, June 5th, 2012.  Traced back to this number 610-755-9988 and got message 'AT 501, this number has been disconnected or is not in service.'  It seems many others have had a similar annoyance.  Please someone find the source of this phone number.  I'd like to file a formal complaint.

So the comments begin in Nov 2009.  Now it's May 2012 and the criminals are calling land lines.  The call comes and is answered, noises are on the other end so someone is there but they don't respond to repeated hellos.  After reading this we'll answer with a spanish hello, hola.

Just got a call from this number.

Same message in spanish like someone mentioned in the posts "__ registradora. Eres el ganador de 1000 ....".  I hung up and did not call back.  I think its a good idea going forward not to take calls from unknown numbers, even if the number is shown, unless they leave a message.

Received a call today around noon... no message.
I'm with Verizon, and recently started using google voice.
Also, I just sent out some resumes on Careerbuilder about an hour before I recieved the call. Doubt that's any connection, but it's possible since my cell number was listed on my resume? Hmmmm. Jerks!

this number called 4 times, but nobdy answers.610 is Allentown,Pa. area code. this is my cell phone their calling and it needs to stopped!

Got the call too. Went to look it up and lead me here. Didn't answer and no voicemail.

Just got a call from this number, someone speaking spanish.  I just hung up.

I´m just moved to Amerika and got the mobile phone 2 weeks.. almost no-one hast my number.. but this damn company gave me a call at 5.30pm. I didn´t here it. I never call a unknown number.

odd....called my cell...did not answer since i don't answer strange #s. They left no voice message! call back n same message as others heard. number had been disconnected n blah blah blah!!

Yup.. Called my cell tonight. Woke me from my nap while watching the "civil war" between Ducks and Beavers. Looked up area code.. says it's from PA. Don't know anyone there, they didn't leave a message, I'm going back to sleep. '-)

Super strange! I just received a call from this number on BOTH my home phone as well as my cell phone not only the same day but within the same 2-3 hour period!  How is that even possible?

I also just got this call at exactly 6:00, but didn't answer.

Got a call from this # at 12:39pm (MST) on 12/2/2009. Like others have said, it was a Spanish recording. I get at least one of these a month from different states: Oklahoma, Ohio and now Penn.

Wish they spoke English so I knew what they were saying. Get a life losers!

What I did in response is call and got the disconnnect message - What you can do - hit *57 to have the number traced and then call your local police to have it traced back.

Also then you can call *60 which gives you the option to block the number from calling you again.

Got a call this afternoon, did not answer.

donotcall.gov is such a scam, they provide all the numbers on the list to whoever asks, especially all the spammers... then don't enforce the law. I refuse to give my phone number to this scam.
