just block/decline the # if you do not recognize it, every time you respond you are verifying yourself as a target for these types of unsolicited calls...even my junky low-tech Tracfone has this option! I do not answer the call & then immediately look up the unfamiliar # on this site, easy! safe!

MW, I had the same exact message!  First of all, the part where the lady was supposed to say her name was cut off (how convenient).  Then, same as you, I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CREDIT CARD! So I don't know why I'm getting any calls about lowering an interest rate that I don't have.  And she even said we had talked earlier, saying "Hey..." like she was my friend or something doing me a big favor. I've never talked to anyone from this number before in my life.  So you, me and others having this same problem tells me the message means either one of two things: #1 the call was an attempted scam of which they'll probably try to get your personal information when you call back, or #2 somebody has already stolen our information and is using it for a credit card.  And then when a legitimate credit card debt bureau is calling to workout a debt resolution, they call your number because that's what the ID thief gave them.  I really, REALLY hope it is option #1!  I suggest you check all of your bank statements and your credit score if you have recently started a line of credit.  I'm going to do the same.

Get calls every couple days. I never answer and they never leave a message

Been getting these calls on my cell phone (that is registered on the do no call list).  I called the phone number back today, an automated system took me through steps to have my phone number taken off their call list.  Hope it works, guess I'll see in 72 hours...... they are still calling

Just had a call from these people. I don't answer unknown numbers so let it go to voicemail. All I got was a robovoice "Hi..." and then they hung up.

The same thing happened to me on sept 14th at 10:59 am. I didnt pick up because i was sleeping and they left me the same message, a cutoff recorded message talking about lowering my rates when i dont have a credit card either.

An actual person left a message about lowering my monthly interest rate on my mortgage. I have no mortgage, I'm renting. SPAM!

Received a call from this number. It was some type of a recorded message but my service was so bad that I could not understand the call.

oh, forgot to add that the woman said it was a "Courtesy Call".  Wrong.  It would be courteous if they weren't out annoying and lying to people.

Answered it on the first ring  and a male voice said, "Hello?" and then hung up without giving me time to reply.

Similar msg here, perky sounding woman left v-mail (I don't answer any unknown numbers) reading her boiler-plate script, "Just following up on our conversation from last week (never had one) about a great opportunity to lower your credit card rate and to stop making just minimum payments (I pay balances in full every month)".  

Usual fraudulent stuff.  Wonder how these people sleep at night.

I got a text from some random number and then I receive a call from this number like an hour later!! I of course didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. How do people get my phone number? I don't put my current phone number on anything. I use my old phone number that isn't even an existing phone number anymore. They need to die.
Does anyone know of a phone number to block these calls. I know they do for Verizon but I don't know if they do for AT&T.

These people call 3-4 times a day, I have tried their number removal and they keep calling, when I get a live person on the phone, I tell them I have not asked for a call and you guys keep calling me, they hang up every time. I am going to report them to the FTC my Cel is on the Do not call list and they keep calling, I think they harvested my number from a Craigs List ad, after the ad I have been receiving these calls daily for over 2 months!!!

whom ever this is needs to stop calling for any reason. they just hang up or say myname and then silent.

Just had exactly the same thing... on my cell phone... while I was at work.

I just received a call from this number, she left a message telling me she was calling me back to talk about resolving my credit card interest rate problems since I'm only making minimum payments.  I don't have a credit card either.  I did fill out a financial application with a auto dealership recently and I'm thinking they sold my info. >:(

I don't know who it was-I didn't answer because I did not recognize the number. They were calling on my cell phone, though.

This is why I love Google Voice --- it shoved the thing in the spam folder immediately as I was looking up the number.

That being said, under FCC and FTC regulation, it is illegal to call cell phones to solicit business. Anyone who gets a call like this, I recommend making a complain.

i get called 3 to 8 being the most times a day from this number straight for the past month-- it is so damn annoying ahhhh

They called. I didn't answer. They left a message about 'debt consolodation' (sp?). Anyhow, I just wish these numbers would HAVE to identify themselves ON our phone display thing. I have had harrasment (for real, by a stalker) in my past and this kind of thing gets under my skin. I am sure there are many other women (probably men too) like me, with this type of issue.

And for those who just get a hello? Creepy crap. This just makes me frustrated, what if it's some kid home alone getting this creepy telemarketer?? Grrr.
