He gave me his name and stated he was a va rep. I have to contact him through the 1800 827 0611 which is a legit va number. He was very helpful. The reason for the call was in regards to a va home loan.

This is a legit VA number. If you have a debt to the VA or any other financial issue with the VA they may call you from this number. I submitted a NOD disputing the amount they claim I owe and they called me to get more info and possibly lower or waive entirely what I owe. I didn't answer and they left a vmail saying they would call back so when they did I answered.

But the return 800 number DOES go to the St. Paul, MN, Regional VA Office.

No. This number belongs to GSA. A shady debt collection agency, not the VA! I guaranty the VA is not calling on a Saturday or at 2200 on a week-night. There practices are illegal and you should obtain help from an attorney. Or, block the number. I am retired military and receive VA benefits. This is not an authorized representative.

6129705996 is "GSA". They are a debt collection place. They leave voicemails that cut off intentionally after saying they are from the VA... If you call back you get a recorded error message. You can file a claim against them as this is an illegal practice. Or just block them...
