I gave Capella a Google number which automatically goes to a voicemail. Since I wasn't answering that they must have done a search and found my "real" number. I did not give them that number and did not give them permission to contact me at that number. So don't say that they are only calling because it was requested. Yes, they are stalkers.

Capella University.  I requested information months ago.  They called, we talked and I later told them that I decided to stay with my current university.  Apparently, whoever I spoke with did not put the information in their notes because they called back and left a msg.  Not going to respond and hoping they just go away.

Most of you probably...inadvertently requested information from them.  Just tell them to remove your number, instead of insulting the school.  I attend there and I have no problem with them.

Actually they do.  I attend there and have no problem with them, whatsoever.  While I'm sorry for your loss, did you tell them that she is no longer living?

You could always set your phone on the front bumper of you car and when you answer the phone blow the car horn into it. they'll stop calling soon enough.

Anyone ever notice that in the capella ad on TV the male student grabs the female students breast as he passes by her....?? I noticed. Then when husband noticed ... I started researching. Pretty pathetic what I read here. Want a great school ? Try Liberty University.

Well enrolling (or applying at the schools official site) is a lot different than what most of those complaining have done. They have filled out one of the MANY 3rd party educational websites which in turn has put them on a call list for EVERY school (mostly online schools). The people calling ARE not enrollment advisers. Sounds like you went dirctly to the schools site and have had an Advisor assigned? Now he/she will call because you initiated the action. On a direct call like that will eventually die out. Oh and if you do apply and get accepted - remember these ADVISORS are sales people and get an incentive. They may try to get you registered fast and steer you to a program that is not filling up fast. Do your research on a program you are interested in and compare to similar programs at other schools - both online and B&M.

Most of you more than likely 'requested information' through an 3rd party educational site. You will have a hard time stopping the calls. You will need to answer each one and have them remove your number. Now you need to remember that your number has been entered into a database under those interested in receiving information about online grad schools. In the future, NEVER give out your real phone number when phishing for info. If you see a school you may be interested in - open a new browser window and call the university directly. You will then have by passed all the 3rd parties and you will have a specific Economic Adviser.

Thank you for posting what you did. I was about to enroll when I read your post. What kind of operation are they running that they would continually call and pour salt in that wound.

They call every day

If you're not interested in receiving phone calls from Capella University, simply tell them politely and they will stop calling.  They don't cold call anyone, only those who have requested information and provided their phone number.  They won't know you're not interested unless you tell them.  Likewise, they won't know they have a wrong phone number unless you tell them.  Hope that helps!

These people call all the time, did not ask for any info on schools. So call out of the blue and all day long.

keep calling my private business line. i have never applied to this university so not sure how they got my phone number that is supposed to be private line. called them back and told rep to stop harassing me.

Keeps calling although I requested mailing info only. Still have not received anything in the mail, but I keep receiving the annoying phone calls multiple times a day.

They continually call me about getting a bachelors degree in education. They keep insisting that I have signed up for their services but that is in correct. They call my cell phone, my home phone, my husbands phone and even my sons phone. One I already have an A.A., A.A.S. in Criminal Justice Technology and a B.S. in Criminal Justice Technology / certified in Homeland security and F.E.M.A and I'm too over qualified so as it is in trying to get a job. Two  why in the world would I want to spend more money on college courses that will be useless in this economy. Hell, I'm better off just telling prospective employers that the only degree I have is an A.A. and I might stand a better chance in getting a job.

They call and when we pick it up they cut the call(i just saw the history in my blackberry and see 27 dropped calls and 11 missed calls), it has happened almost every day for almost a month for me and is there a way to file a police report?

I requested information from Capella and after weighing my options and deciding this school wasn't for me, a representative from Capella has called three times a day for the past week asking why and telling me to reconsider, that choosing another school would be a big mistake.  I have asked them repeatedly not to call anymore, and someone else calls the next time claiming they did not know I don't want them calling.  If I don't answer, they hang up on the voicemail instead of leaving a message.  

If you're thinking of this school, FORGET IT.  I decided against them when I learned of their "hidden" costs and spamming practices.

I get these calls and I believe I have told them not to call me. How do I report it to the police? It's a bit annoying.

They have called me once every day for the past 3 days.  Total stalkers is right!  If I was thinking about attending their school, I'm certainly not anymore!
