This number called 5 times in the morning within 3 hours and when I picked up a man demanded in a rude voice "IS THE OWNER AVAILABLE"

I asked who is calling. he refuse to tell him, after a few times of asking, he finally says that they can review your merchant account for credit card payment processing.
They have nothing to do with hospital.

I run a pizza restaurant in Manitoba and we received calls from this number at two of our locations.  Sometimes they mumble something before hanging up, sometimes they don't.  No one here would have given out two of our locations phone numbers for anything hospital related.

Thank you. I have had 4 different companies trying to sell me merchant services. I have services with my bank and have had to be rude and hang up on them when they call, Seems they are calling from several different numbers in different locations.

This number has called 5 times today alone on my business line. I have not been able to catch the call and they never leave a message. I have blocked them.

This number now belongs to a VERY pushy Merchant Services company.

called twice in a row I didn't answer....waited 10 minutes and called twice in  row again.

got a call at 5pm  from "6137614844" <6137614844>  Lady very aggressive asking for the manager asked many times if I could help her she just continued to ask for the manager or owner. I held my ground and then rudely just hung up. I asked numerous times what it was concerning and if I could help her. she just hung up

Not sure what it was but sounded like she might of been selling something.

I got a mail piece not long ago about a health survey ? I wonder if these calls are related ? they've called more than once ? if they left a message maybe I'd pick up next time ? I don't have any appointments at the hospital ...

Lol, if it was something so relevant than why wouldn't there be a voicemail left? I've received several calls and no messages. It does not make sense.

This number called me 3 times and hung up each time I answered. When I called the number back I got a recording saying "This Number does not accept in-coming calls." What a bunch of losers!

People everywhere need to realise that ALL ROBO CALLS ARE SCAMS!!! Stop buying their BS and they will stop selling it!

May I suggest that you turn the ringer off on your phone before you go to be and turn it back on in the morning. If you think you might get a phone call in the middle of the night, then your phone should be within arm's reach. That way, you don't even have to get out of bed to answer a call. Cordless phones are now very cheap and usually are sold in pairs, you can leave one next to your bed and the other one in the living room.

This number is associated with the Civic Hospital. You probably got a call from a patient who dialed the wrong number. You'd mumble too if you, for example, was recovering from surgery or other illness. Don't be so judgemental and narrow minded when you post. That call was not b***s*** and nobody was screwing around. Smarten up.

This number IS from The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. It is one of their main outgoing trunk lines! It is NOT from a bloody pay phone! It is NOT a telemarketer. It is NOT a collector!

Do you know how many doctors have offices in the Civic? 100's. And their outgoing line's are the same number used through the switchboard trunk lines system. Do you know how many dept's are in the Civic? Also probably 100's - everything from Outpatient to Inpatient to Heart Institute, Cancer, MRI, Nephrology, etc etc etc. Use your heads. If they are calling you, your doctor may have referred you for tests or something there or it could be a wrong number.

Folks, this really really does seem to be the number shown for outgoing calls from departments of the Civil Hospital.

I spent all day today in the ER at the Civic. When I checked messages on getting home tonight, there was a call from this number.

I suppose that somebody in the ER or on the ward where my person was eventually admitted tried to call me, not realizing I was waiting in the hospital.

Otherwise it's just too much of a coincidence, isn't it?!

if it really is the hospital caller ID #, then one of these telemarketers offering to save businesses on their credit card processing fees (of which are many) are probably doing "Caller ID Spoofing" (look it up), if they are breaking other laws in their business practices then this is just one of those 'tricks' that they use...from the get-go that type of business is designed to bilk people on outbound calls only, they don't want ppl calling them...btw, i got 3 calls ydy Jun 26 2013 on my Newfoundland-based cell phone, I have no connection to Ottawa or that hospital

Number just called me twice. Asking for the owner of a company? I asked how they got this number and what they wanted and they hung up on me.

is the main hospital number I would call and keep giving complaints until the find a better practice especially with the calling and hanging up situation that's happening to allot of people

it is a followup call doing survey about SMOKING.  You may have agreed at a Dr's appt.  ???
I agreed to it, in return to a 5 minute survey, they send you a $2 tim horton gift card for participating.

I had reason to check out the phone number 613-761-4844.  This call came either from the Civic Hospital, Section Psychiatry, or the Montford Hospital, also 613-761-4844.  The number appeared on my call display.  I am quite familiar with these kind of calls and know the originators quite well. I am also very upset that Bell Canada allows this kind of calls.  The callers take it one step further when they leave messages in my voice mail and, when I return the call, they tell me, in a very "stern" fashion that their numbers are for outgoing calls.  What gives psychiatrists these privileges?

"Galaxy Nexus from Google" made call from the number 613 761 4844.  I have no idea who these people are and resent it very much that they expect me to crawl outy of bed when callers such as these are allowed to hide behind their phone numbers with a "761" in it. I know that Bell Canada gives these phone numbers out to make all sorts of secret calls.  Bell gives this unnecessary protection to hospitals, and any issues such callers have is only unnecessarily protected.  I have voice mail and call display so I can eventually figure out who they are.
