Got a call from this number & they hung up after I said "hello, hello"

Got a call from a guy who said we talked a while ago. Said his name was "Max". I talk to a lot providers so I played it off.  Asked about my father's plumbing business "What are you guys up to?". I said I was the web developer and wasn't sure what he meant. He said "Jeez can't get a simple answer to a question, WHAT... ARE... YOU... WORKING... ON...?" and then hung up.  

Called back and the number was disconnected.

Sounds to me after reading all your complaints this number is tied to a contracting service of sorts, maybe trying to find competitors, or doing some other type of scam.

I got a call from this number 615-201-8441 and asked to speak to Michael. Using the name Michael I knew it was some selling something because no one uses that name when calling him he goes by Mike to everyone he knows.  I told him that he wasn't in & he asked when would he be in I replied he doesn't come in anymore.  He was terribly rude and asked if he was retired I said no. I explained I was the other owner & could help him. He got very nasty with me and said"  get his f***ing head out of your lap & put him on the phone".  I said hey take us off your call list we are not interested in talking to you.  He replied no there is no list and hung up.  I tried to call back from the number on the caller ID & when calling it says " number disconnected" What is this guy up to Would anyone talk to him with that attitude??

I just received a call from this number -- fortunately, he wasn't rude as many of you experienced!  He was, however, very "familiar" -- asked for my husband casually like they were buds.  

I am certain, after reading these comments, that this can (at least initially) be traced to Home Depot.  Although my husband is a skilled carpenter and does the occasional side job, his actual business is firefighter -- no connection at all to the building trades.  The ONLY time we ever had our info out there as a "business" was one time when the sales guy at HD suggested we use a business name when signing up for a credit card -- that way we could take advantage or a $50 light.  That "free" light has cost us MANY phone calls and countless mailings.  Home Depot, very obviously, sells their lists.

similar story...says he's "the tool guy" from Arizona and he can deliver any product to my door via UPS and I don't have to pay the bill for 30 days. He also asked if I ever bought anything by phone. He sounded familiar as if we talked, but I don't remember him. When I asked what exactly he sold, he told me plumbing parts. I told him we were happy with our suppliers, he immediately hung up.

What a dick!

Very similar the the previous comments.  Caller asks for my husband by name.  If I tell him he's not in, he say "F--- You" & hangs up.  If he talks to my husband & my husband says he doesn't have time to talk he repeats the same vulgar epithet.  This has happened like four time in the past 2 weeks.  The caller ID just give the phone number, 615-201-8441 & says "Tennessee call".

Sorry, more info - when we call 615-201-8441 back we get the "this number has been disconnect" recording.

Said he was John Webber w/Webber Electric and asked for the owner's mobile #, when we wouldn't give it to him, he hung up.  Called *69 and got phone number.  Called # back and recording say's it's a disconnected #.

I believe I have narrowed these calls down to my AMERICAN EXPRESS BUSINESS CARD. They somehow put me in their file as a concrete business on their recent listing. Now I get solicitation calls and mail out the wazoo for concrete tools,schools and what not. Shame on AMEX  for being the bad guy selling out your info.
