Verizon Wireless Message Retrieval System-usually related to past due balance on account.
| Michelle 2011-06-06 20:52:46 Unknown |
I called # back and it said it was Verizon Message retrieval service to press "1" and enter zip code if I was Jennifer. That is NOT me and there was not an option to press for customer service.

It is a private message system for Verizon Wireless. My wireless account had a past due amount on it. The Message system is calling you to let you know that you have a past due amount. Either call back and pay or make arrangements to pay or face Disconnection. The Choice is yours. I made payment arrangements =). If you don't have a Verizon account then simply don't worry about the call. But if you do, call back or face disconnection.

I have gotten two calls in the past 4 days from this number. The recording claims to be Verizon, however, when they called the first time I was in the Verizon store and had the clerk look up my bill. The recording said I owed $320.52, which is not true, I had just paid my bill online for 210.47 and my next month bill was 207.52. I gave Verizon the number that called me and they do not know who is calling. I believe it is another scam out there someone who doesn't want to get off their butt to work is trying to get money out of some unexpecting elderly person or someone who is not organized with their bills who will unintentionally give this scam lazy butt person their credit card information. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT information over the phone with out verifying who the person is calling!!!!!!!

It's a scam. I received the call...I am not the account holder and my phone is not the main account. Verizon only calls the main account holder.

Verizon Wireless collections which seem to be located in India judging from the accent of the person who left a voice mail.

Verizon Wireless doesnt outsource to India. . and the person they were looking for is a friend of mine, no me. . Her phone isnt in my name and her acct isnt past due. . i think its a scam

How do you get them to stop calling? They called me 4 times in the past 2 days.

The number is Verizon Billing Department . . . It's a demon dialer system setup in Franklin Tennessee. Amusingly, the System is deployed in a Sprint (Embraq) Central Office.
The problem is the Billing System information is about a week behind the actual balance. Also, the system assumes the last added number to the account is the primary. Billing is handed independent from accounts [idiots].
So, if you are on a Verizon plan with multiple sets, the message is delivered to the last added phone number. You need to call Verizon 611 and make sure the account's Primary Number is set as the Primary Contact for Billing Contact. I know it's stupid, but that's the reality.
If you are not a Verizon customer i.e. other Wireless Carrier, understand a lot of smaller Wireless Carriers are in reality fronts for Verizon Services i.e. the Carrier you are using is in reality using Verizon's Network to provide service. So, if the responsible party is late in paying Verizon, you get the call. In that case, call your carrier and report the problem.

They said it was Verizon Wireless and I had a past due account balance, but the automated message had a British accent?
