Got a phone call from "Jeff Parker," who sounded like his name should be "Raheem Farooqi." Definitely a Middle Eastern accent of some kind. "Jeff" said I had a loan of $1000 that I received on January 19th, 2009 from the Thomas Welker National Bank. Unfortunately for him, I'd never heard of that bank or took out any loans. Ever.
When I told him that, he began to go on about how they were suing me for the money and that I had a high likelihood of being jailed. Upon telling him, "I can't be arrested for debt in this country," he proceeded to yell loudly that I was a, "filthy liar that will be going to hell" after he rapes, kills, and eats my whole family.
I said, "yeah, you sound like a legitimate debt collector," he said that he could assure me he was. When I asked his company's name, he cussed at me and hung up. At work the next day, a different guy named Jeff Parker called my cellphone again from the same number, talking about a $3000 debt I owed to Quincy Walker National Bank. He said his company was suing me and he would be calling my employer after the phone call was done. When I asked him who my employer was, he cussed at me and told me he would murder my children and spit on their graves.
The only thing I kept saying after that outburst was, "Hello?" I don't know what he said next because it was impressively loud and completely unintelligible. I hung up on him and haven't gotten a call since.
Moral of the story, these people are either terrible money scammers or great time scammers. Don't even answer.
