People with the same messages. It's close to
the holidays. Too many gullible
people beware & be careful!

They said I won $1000 gift card. Checked at Target. It's a scam!

Rec'd text from 619-481-8220 said iI had won $1,000 Target card which I didn't enter for. Tuesday November 20 2012.Said enter code 53822.I knew this was a scam !!!!!

This is the message I sent to the FTC, Verizon Wireless, Target, and my State Attorney General (IL) :

Last night I rc'vd two strange txt messages from phone numbers 619-481-8220 and 619-961-0141 at 12:00am and 3:02am respectively.  The content was as follows:

Your entry last month has WON! Go to TargetContests.com and enter your winning code 6354 to claim your FREE $1000 Target gift card within 24 hrs.

I know this is a scam (just type in the phone number in any search engine) but wanted to make you aware should you not be aware of such a scam and, if you are aware, to have another complainer to add to your list.

Security company Cloudmark created a spam messaging reporting service that nation?s major wireless carriers agreed earlier this year to start using. Now, customers of AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and others can forward their text spam message to 7726. The mobile phone carrier will ask customers for the phone number that?s linked to the spam message so they and Cloudmark can start investigating.

I got a text from this number but it didn't say anything. It was just blank!!!

Text Msg from 619-481-8220 Validation Code 6354 for some Contest (I Never) entered last month.

Like AlfaAlfa said.. in that Article/Link .. FORWARD the msg to SPAM ( = 7726)

Verizon. T-Mobile, AT&T and ?Other Carriers are coordinating this effort to Investigate & Prosecute the Spammers.

I recieved a text from this phone # on 11/14/2012 stating I won a $1000 target gift card and had 24 hrs to claim it. I ignored the scam and deleted the message.

WOW WE MUST ALL BE LUCKY MY HUSBAND GOT THIS VERY SAME CODE FOR TARGET.

Gee...I got the same winning code 3847.  And I thought I was special!

Received a text message on 11/11/12 at 1:50am from this number claiming "my friend" had entered me into a contest for a free Walmart gift card.  Said to go to Walmartcontests.com and enter winning code 7483 within 24 hrs to claim my card.   WHOIS shows the website was initiated on 11/8/12 and uses WhoisGuard to hide the identity of the site oner.   Reported it to Whoisguard as a spam site.  Reported it as text spam to 7726.
