Good Idea on their part, but for myself and as told by a friend who is a collector by profession. With caller ID, many people don't answer their phone unless they recognize the caller as a friend/family or someone they want to talk to!

Depending on your phone, you can block these idiots out as I just did. They never say anthing. I have a panasonic cordless phone and saved this number to the blocked callers list. I got the info from the internet. Just search on how to block calls on your type of phone and the calls will stop immediately. Let's put these idiots to rest!

I 100% agree with u..

Have you reported their calls and their behavior to the FCC?
Are you for real? 2012-06-15 21:10:45 Unknown
No name is more real than a fake name. There is a reason why we get a phone number when we get a phone..to give it to those who we want to hear from. We are the ones that pay the bill, so we are the ones who decide who we want to hear from. Why should Ma rush to the phone to answer an unwanted call? Not everyone can afford caller ID. And the fact that we have access to a do not call list says it all, don't you think? I guess NOT..lol I am guessing you're a telemarketer?

Keep getting calls from this number but do not respond - they do ot leave messages
Minirescuemom 2012-06-13 15:26:45 Unknown
This is MDS - telephone fund raising. They don't have to adhere to the "do not call" list because it is always for non-profits

I read today that there is an outfit in China making some fake collection agency calls. I always call the number back long enough to find out who they are, then look the number up myself and don't use theirs. Some of these are 3rd party companies (overseas) who are paid to make calls to a list. They can show with their phone records that they called you, but the records don't show the length of the call. I have had that type from my credit card company's fraud detection dept. Fortunately I called back, found out who it was, looked up the number on the back of my card, then called the credit card and cleared it up...then complained. The call and hang up thing is infuriating as it may be legitimate, just don't give any info to the original caller.

Not LDS, madame. We don't solicit funds nor call on people this way. Try the other acronym, it may be correct

THank you for this info. I did it today!!!

Many, many calls from this number. Do not answer with caller ID. I am on Federal no-call list.
This has to be stopped now.

They call me twice a day, usually every other day. Please leave me alone...

Guys, I've had with this number calling me. Finally today I had a breakthrough. The company is run out of Sacramento and the direct number into the call center where the "supervisors" sit is: 916-437-0494, 0495, 0496. You will get an actual person and you can break off a piece of your mind and demand they take you off their call lists. Worked for me, good luck!!

Thanks Mark for the post. I have been getting these annoying calls and no answers when I pick up.
mesaman 2012-05-11 19:42:07 Unknown
when I receive a call from a number or an unknown caller , I pick up the phone, ignore it until I hear the busy signal, then hang up. I do not talk to them and will not. If they want to disclose who they are, I will either answer or reject.
michelle75 2012-05-11 19:32:39 Unknown
about my credit, it's ok...just hold on for an offer to reduce interest
mesaman 2012-05-05 02:38:59 Unknown
Received call from this number 2037 hrs 5/5/2012. Pressed talk, laid phone down, when busy signal came on, hung up. I figure they should pay the full amount for calling.

Thanks, Mark!

Caller ID said "unavailable". Call many times and never leave a message on the answering machine. If it is a charity like some have reported, then we need to add charities that you have no relationship with to the do not call list. I sometimes think they use the do not call list for the opposite!

called asking if person was Pro Life, Pro choice etc
rusty 2012-03-16 14:16:20 Unknown
Very untimely calls from this number. I am suppose to be on the do no call list.

No meesage left when machine picked up, so deleted number.
oldbellman 2012-03-10 04:32:33 Unknown
*69 is not to block but to acquire the number of the last call.
rev 2012-03-09 21:08:48 Unknown
This number calls numerous times per week. There is sometimes static on the other end, sometimes I pick up and there is no one there.

They call constantly from the 877 area code but using different phone numbers. It's probably MDS; some kind of outfit soliciting for various charities. From their unprofessional behavior (they hang up on you, become rude, curse at times, etc.) it sounds like these are unemployed people who signed up for "work at home" jobs for which they must make unlimited calls seeking to get prospects and get paid only for successful hits. That's probably why many of them get frustrated and angry when people don't respond positively call, after call, after call. I suspect that some just get "cold feet" (since they are really not sales types) and just hang up. Anyway, you can purchase a call blocking device for $99 from Digitone Communications in Las Vegas. Look them up. They're on-line. With their device, you can block up to 80 numbers and you can even block entire area codes. In this case, you would just put in the 877 area code to be blocked and you will get no more calls from there. Since it seems that MDS keeps using the 877 area code, you can stop them cold until they switch to another area code and start the entire charade over. With the call blocker, your phone never rings to a blocked call and you can have peace of mind. No, I am not a sales rep for Digitone or any other company but I did buy their device and it works beautifully. Good luck to you.

Thank you for leaving the post on where to go to stop the calls. I also appreciate you listing all the numbers; I verified against my call history and there were 4 of the same ones. Thanks again. I filled out the DO NOT call info at mds.

This is a telephone fundraising company that makes fundraising calls for multiple nonprofit organizations. They are exempt from the Do Not Call registry because of their "fundraising" status, but if you return the call using this number and leave your phone number and instructions to remove your number from their company list, they will do so.

SAME HERE!

I've been receiving calls from this number at least twice a day. I don't know who this is, but it's kind of annoying because the don't leave a message if it is important. Just going to ignore the call.
Terrell 2012-02-17 17:12:20 Unknown
They called today, when I picked up, there was no one there.
