I got the same message? What does he get from it though?

He's trying to work this scam on me right now. Can we set some sort of trap and catch him in the act?
He texted my phone at 3:30 in the morning. I knew it most likeley was a scam, and now looking on this page, I know for sure.

I just got the same message, texted to my phone at 3:30 in the morning.
The person stated (word for word):
"am at work right now on sea, am an oceanography am willing to pay your asking price. I will pay by a check as its the only way I can pay you at the moment. I will make arrangement for the pickup after payment have been received by you. I dont mind adding an extra $50 for you to keep it for me".

received call from this number Oct 11 they tried deleting the number after 3 or 4 texts but I had a feeling it wasn't legit so I put the number in my saved numbers

Yep same happened to me thankfully I had inkling it was spam same message almost word for word told them I had just sold item to someone local they tried deleting their number but I had already put it in my saved numbers

i am really tired of these things...no matter what i do short of not listing my number...they even get it if i  use camuflage if i dont list my number i have issues selling...and they will email me as well...anyway this number has contacted me before...this time it said...hello is this  80s full size slide in truck camper  forsale let me know the last price???   this is new....can these people even learn how to spell morons...

The person text me and said " I'am currently at work...I work at the sea as an oceanography...I definitely want the item and will send check and I has given his Partner the go ahead to mail payment to the address you gave me. You will receive payment within the week. Once payment is received we can proceed with the pick up. Thanks for your understanding and patience. I would like you to take the posting off CraigsList today and kindly reply with your phone #. Warm regards   (My full name and address was given to this number by text to be able to have a check sent to me!!!)
I sent a follow up text that I had not received check and the response was "Oh you are going to got the check"
I sent a follow up 12 days after the initial contact and explained that the item was going to be re-listed on CraigsList......NO RESPONSE!

Craigslist Scammer!!!

Got reply to a craigslist ad from this #. Typically scam message. They send a check, I cash it and give change to "movers" who will pick up because he works at sea.
