Hi,

I've been receiving calls from 619-342-0288 apparently this is a number they are using as well.  I was told the same story, however, I was stupid enough to give him what he asked for, but I contacted my bank today and cancelled my debit card.  So far the $580.00 has not affected my account.  I will report this to the police...

I am in chicago and reported the number to the local non-emergency police but they said they could only help people who have actually paid money to such a scam.

So are they still calling you.  They told me to fax all this information and call them this morning.  I am not doing it but I could guarantee if I did as soon as I called them back and told them I faxed it the number would be disconnected.  I talked to some guy who said he was Allen Matthews.  I was like really your name is Allen becuase he sounded foreign like you said, Apooh, lol.  But they wanted my debit/credit card number.  I am going to see if they call me today and if they keep calling me I am going to report them to somebody or have a police officer call them back.  He told me he could work with me to pay it off and said he would call the legal department at First Advance and talk to them to work out a payment plan so he put me on hold.  I was like really it's that easy then let me talk to them and I couldn't.  I made one of the guys really mad so he let me talk to someone else who could have been the same person because it sounded the same.

They wouldn't fax, email or mail anything to me.. not even give me and address...  they don't know who they are messing with now!  That's all I have to say.

I received a call today AT MY WORK with these people and they weren't very nice.  They gave me all of my personal information (most of which I did not confirm) and they said they are taking me to court for Fraud and two other counts.  This had me concerned...  I then came home and verified all my bank information because I knew this was crazy.. So I called them back (sounded like the same guy the each time I called) and he told me he was sending my information to the courthouse where I was located and they are going to press charges...  I asked a simple question they could have answered which was What is you physical address.. he told me he could not provide that information to me.. This is nuts... I really hope they get caught!! I have never applied for a "Payday Advanced Loan" especially not ONLINE.  I have no idea where they got this information from but it really makes me mad.  I am pressing charges.. I just hope it's worth it.

I just received the same call from this number.  It said the same exact thing that I owed $829 to First Advance and I need to fax my debit/credit card number to that fax number 1-888-501-5854 and they were also threatening a law suit if I did not pay the amount.  They would not mail me anything because I told them I wanted a copy of the affadavit they were referring to but they said they couldn't.  The bank account they were talkign about that first advance had debted money to was closed and I have not used it in 2 1/2 years.  This is such a scam and I am so glad I found this site.  I just googled their phone number because it just didn't seem right and I wasn't abou to fax my debit card or credit card number to them.  We really need to do something about this to make sure that people are not getting scammed out of their money whether it is reporting it to local police stations, local newspapers or local news stations.  I noticed these posts just started about a month ago and I guarantee you they have scammed some people and maybe have not been reported yet.

1 more thing.  I did some research on the telephone number and found out that it is from a carrier in mexico using a voIP phone number.  These are numbers generated from a computer and are very hard to track because several people can access that number for their own needs.  IP phones are illegal in many countries but not in mexico or the umited states.  The affidavit company can be traced to San Diego but that is all the information I was able to get.

Hi there!  I wrote the comment above yours.  I was debating getting an autorrney too.  I plan an filing a report at the police station where I work and have been receiving the calls.  My only concern is that if I get a lawyer, I'll be out more money than if I actually owed these fraudelent people.  Im just not sure if it is worth it.  I totally understand that you don't want someone to be taken advantage of.  I just don't know what to do.

I too have been receiving calls from this number at work.  They had all of my information as well, old cell number which has since been disconnected, work number, routing and account number for a closed account and say that I owe First Advance $829.00.  They also state that First Advance emailed me repeatedly, which they did not.  The only name I could get out of them is Legal Restitution and several different people called named Jimmy and Alan.  They threatened a lawsuit if I did not give them either a debit or credit card to make the paymet.  I repeatedly asked for information regarding the debt and some validation of the amount they said I owed but they kept saying I could not have that information until after I paid the debt.  They also refused to send me anything in the mail or via email.  In all cases the caller was foreign, Indian I believe and very hard to communicate with.  They demanded that I fax a letter of apology saying how sorry I was that I had not paid this debt and that I preferred to settle this out of court using an OOCR affidavit.  I did send a fax to the number they gave me (888) 501-5854 requesting information but received none.

I received a call from this company today.  I was in a desperate situation a couple of years ago and applied for one of these online payday loans but was turned down so I left the idea alone.  I have been receiving calls from this number and it's either a lady with a heavy accent or a guy with such a heavy accent I can barely understand him.  I checked my back records and like you all, no record of any kind of deposit in that amount of money shows up on my records.  I asked for an address to mail a copy of this information and the guy screamed at me and hung up the phone.  I reported this number to the bank's fraud department and when I told the guy that he did NOT like it at all.  Do you all think it would be advisable to take these phone calls to an attourney and try to file a lawsuit to get these guys shut down before they drain some innocent person dry?

Hi there!  I got a call from this number today as well.  they asked for my info to confirm my identity for a civil suit.  I have never had a payday loan from this company and the information that they have is kind of scary.  They had my old email and bank accounts which have been closed for years.  They claim to have sent emails to me which I have never gotten.  Its strange that all of a sudden they are trying to collect when I never got correspondense and furthermore never took out a loan.  I tried to get information from them but they said they are a 3rd party and are only confirming my identity.  They called me at work of all places the minute I came in and you all know how much fun that is.  They said I owed First Advance payday loans over $800.  she said that first advance wants to settle out of court and for me to pay this money. I told her, "NO, I want to go to court! because this is a farse.  I have to call back on monday and we will see what happens.  I will keep you updated.

Hi,
Debbie I was wondering if that number called you again?

You see I recieved a call from that number yesterday. Normally I hang up right away but they mentioned the word civil suit.

They stated it was regarding a Payday loan from the company First Advance (which I can not find a record of) They stated that they were from an affidavit company and just need to confirm some information. They had my mother's name and phone number and a name and phone number from a friend. They also had old bank account info. ( I closed this account quite some time ago.) When I told her that I would not confirm information and that I needed more info from her she had nothing to give. Today I went to the bank that the money had supposedly been deposited into only for them to find no such record. When I proceeded to call the number back (a number that I had called yesterday and had been working) it was not in service. I am glad to know that I did not actually owe 800++ dollars but am a little concerned that they had so much information.

So after my long story I again am curious as to whether or not you ever spoke with someone?

I was smart enough to refuse to give and or confirm information and I urge the rest of you to do the same.

Her claim was they needed to verify the information so that the lawyer could process the suit. As I stated to her in other expereinces that I am aware of they had other ways to verify information and I have never seen someone have to confirm the information for it to be processed.

Please if anyone has additional info or suggestions on who I should call regarding this issue please let me know.
