Time for action People

We received a call yesterday.

I just got a call from this number (620) 450-3006.  On my phone the text ID said "Pratt KS" - when I answered this call it was an automated message saying something along the lines of they 'tried to contact me on numerous occasions regarding my account and may have to close my account if I don't respond' Then it went on to say something about low interest rate accounts (credit card?) and that I'd need to transfer over $3000 (of debt?) to them.  When I tried to call the number back I got a recording saying that number was not a valid number (or it was out of service).  It was questionable behavior to say the least.  

I've been getting these calls once a day, but often it says "unknown"in the id box of my phone.

I got sick of this so I called my phone service provider, Comcast, (I have an IP phone), but they didn't seem to offer much help other than suggesting I use something called Call Screening (*60) which is supposed to dump all callers to your mail box.   I asked of they had call blocking, but they don't.  However they can block all anonymous calls with *77.  

Comcast really wasn't very helpful.  I kept asking is there anything else that can be done and they were not particularly responsive to my questions.  Eventually,  I did get them to say that I could use something called a Call Trace by pressing *57 then I would have to contact my local police department and file a report.  After that I would then have to contact Comcast's Legal department Center at 866-947-8572 and give them the police officer's name who filed the report and police report number.

Does anyone know why the phone company (as well as ISPs that provide IP phones) never offer that I put my number in the do not call registry?  

What a hassle.  

Anyway, for what it's worth that's my story.  I hope I can put a stop to these calls soon.

I received a call from this number...when I called it back it tells me it is not in service.

I've been getting so many of these calls...  and it's on my company cell phone.  reported a couple of them to the FCC but it's too time consuming.  it's to the point I just leave my phone on silent!  extremely irritated with all these annoying calls!

Called my cell phone (which is registered with the Do Not Call list).  Recording started "This is card member services with an important message...."  I hung up before the recording completed.

Same message as reporter above. Prob. a telamarketer for consolidation of credit card debt. I reported calls from 2 different phone #'s to FCC's  Do Not Call List violation registry

I Got A Call From This Number And It Said Unkonwn Name On It

I was outside when it rang so I did not answer the call. There was no voice mail message left. The ID was "Pratt KS." I am assuming that is a location in Kansas but have no friends/relatives living in or near Pratt Kansas?? Looking at photos on Google Maps, it looks like a pretty much out of the way place. Maybe a good home for telemarketers??
