Nasty nasty collection company. They buy up old debt and will sue for judgement. Watch out.

Called my cell, I did not answer since I did not recognize the number.  No message left.

Portfolio Solutions calling about some $147 from 1996 lol Just start talking sexual explicit language and they hang up

These people call from different numbers (prepaid cell phones I would guess and never leave a message.  Very irritating.  I will not respond to them.

They try to collect on expired debt and yes, they are bottom feeding hoodnuts. Block and ignore them.

No message left. Just a missed call on my cell but number seemed unfamiliar so I "binged" it. And here I am! I figured it was a collection agency. These guys seem to be particularly nauseating. Portfolio Recovery is their name I guess/.

They call and nobody on the other end. Chicken Do Do! I would take the phone and shove it up the homoes behind... big or little doesn't matter to me.  Piece of crap!

Is a debt collector based in Kansas, but upon returning their call, supposedly my number was not in the system...

Regardless of the fact that you do have financial difficulties, ALWAYS make a caller mail - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt and proof that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  This is your right per federal law (the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).  If they refuse to mail this documentation, do not pay them!  More good information here:

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.
For extortion Scam Operations, file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

And folks should consider looking at maybe getting call blocking device or phone....you can Google them and many are around $60 or so.

Calls with different phone numbers. I always hit ignore and they never leave a message. I have had financial difficulties but these guys are scummier than me. Who calls but refuses to leave a message or say who they are.
I feel like answering their call with "Hello. This is Donald Trump ( or Bill Gates, you choose your gazillionaire). What can I do ya fear?" Lol.
Anyway f*** them and their mothers.

Bottom Feeders, period. Lowest of scum that pretends to have a 3rd grade edumacation.

If you have a smartphone - you can create a contact for "Scam" & set the caller ID to block them; then they can't leave a message (not like they would) nor can they get through & make your phone ring. The phone basically ignores them & blocks them from contacting your from that number. I've done this & it works great! :)

Portfolio recovery steals informations,buys fraudulent informations from fraudulent sources,because portfolio recoveries are felons who can't get employments and never will So please make extra efforts to file lawsuits and reports their whereabouts to law enforcements.

I didn't answer and the caller didn't leave a message, but
I am confident that this is Portfolio Recovery Associates, as everything described on this page fits their MO perfectly (refusing to identify themselves, no message, etc...).

Thing is, I do owe "them" money, but have very little confidence that paying them off will get rid of them.

Asking for someone else. Not for me.

Received a call, I didn't answer. No message was left. Area code shows as being in Kansas. If this is a debt collector believe me I have no debt in Kansas or anywhere in the USA... I live in Canada!  I have blocked the number on my cell.

How do you get them to stop calling? This is annoying. I have no outstanding debt.
