The link posted above for the FCC is a false link (reported to admin).. they are not .com's, they are .gov since they are a government agency. here is the real link to the FCC along with the FTC as well. And yes, they are free!

The message left on my machine was that I am entitled to lower interest rates on my credit card......looks like these people are running a variety of scams from this one number......
Scottk 2013-11-18 17:09:17 Unknown
Even better is if you have a digital service with Simultaneous Ring where you can have multiple numbers ring when your main number is called (like vonage) you can get a google voice number, simulring both main number and google voice. Set google voice to pick up voicemail more rings than your answering machine or use googlevoice for your voicemail.
Here's the good part. Google voice has auto spam call filter on most calls, and you can block calls directly from call history and send them the disconnected number tones and message. Cut my telemarking calls down to a couple per month and when one does get through, you just go to call history and block. Your home phone will ring 1/2 a tone before google blocks.

I keep getting calls about lowering my interest rates, even when I have told them I have no credit cards, they continue to call and are very rude when I ask them to stop calling. I decided to get them back, and I think every single person out there should do the same thing....I purchased a Marine Signal Horn (the kind used on boats when in need of help) when the person actually gets on the line, I talk very quietly so they will have to turn up their volume on there end. When they do, I blast them!! Be sure to turn your head the other way, as the horn is very loud. I figure if they are going to annoy me, I will hopefully make it so their ears are ringing for a while. Maybe they won't be able to make calls for a while.
caller id has said, "Card Services", "Marketing Fraud" the recording has said it is card services or Rachel from card services. Good luck getting them to stop calling, I have notified the FCC with no luck.

Another unknown call to our cell phone, we don't answer these and we're on the do-not-call-list. Crazy.
dave 2013-06-21 22:54:55 Telemarketer
caller i.d. said 'Marketing Fraud' which is nice if your kids or grandmother are looking at it deciding whether to pickup...
total scammer morons!!

Called at 12:34 today and hung up when they got recorder. Appropriately, the caller id showed as "marketing fraud".
Lynn M 2013-06-05 19:53:45 Unknown
Ha, ha! It actually came up with the words "Marketing Fraud" next to the number on my phone caller ID. I was so perplexed that I had to look it up and found this forum. I suspect the FCC must have attached this title to the number. I still get the call and no message, but at least I'm not fooled into answering.

I told the caller I was on the do not call list and she said it didn't matter because it was related to a Federal Policy; when I asked what policy, she said the Card Act of 2001 when I said take me off your call list; she hung up.
Irene Liebenberg 2013-05-29 20:33:06 Telemarketer
Caller said I'm eligible for a lower credit card interest rate. When I said I was on the do not call list, the response was that it didn't matter because it was a federal matter.

Left Message on April 15, 2013 at 2:32 PM Pacific Time -
"Press 1 now to speak to a live representative and reduce your rates. Again, press 1 now. To no longer receive offers, press 9."
Robocalling maggots, using bizarre caller ID - "Marketing Fraud"
I now believe that they actually use the Do Not Call list to GET numbers to call, rendering the Do Not Call list FAR WORSE than just useless.
Fed Up 2013-04-12 02:18:12 Unknown
Called our house about 4 pm. We were not home and they did not leave a message. With a caller ID name "MARKETING FRAUD" why would we answer? We are on state and federal do not call lists.
4-10-13. annoying, no message 2013-04-11 21:43:10 Unknown
04-10-2013. no message hung up. in spite of my being on do not call list.... very annoying!!!
Dushan29 2013-04-11 21:20:38 Unknown
Left no message. Just another scam.

Caller id is now Reading :Marketing Fraud: LOL. Well at least the phone company has now labeled these deadbeats as fraud scammers.... you've been warned by all the good folks above me...nothing legit about this caller.

Caller ID, Marketing Fraud, called me at 7:02 am!!! and woke me up. I'm retired. Didn't answer and blocked their number. They left a recorded message "press one now and reduce your rates." That's all. Not nice.
richard m 2013-03-16 02:21:53 Unknown
Called to "reduce your interest rate" and the funny thing is that the caller id said "Marketing Fraud".
Larry 2013-03-11 14:28:17 Telemarketer
I recieved a call this morning from this number and it came up on my caller ID as Fraud Marketing.
Noelle 2013-03-04 15:42:52 Unknown
Just got another call from them at 10:30 this morning. I'd previously saved their number in my cell phone and set it up for no ringtone so I don't even know they've called until my phone alerts me that they've left a pre-recorded voicemail.
Contrary to what someone said upthread, you cannot press one to opt out or talk to their customer service people to be taken off the call list. These people are scammers, not a legitimate business. If you press one to opt out or actually answer the call, they mark your number as "good" and share it with other scammers.
N Alred 2013-03-03 16:41:06 Unknown
Caller ID kicked up "Marketing Fraud". Certainly appreciated the honesty, but did not bother to answer. Wonder where that id came from?
Leah 2013-02-27 22:29:35 Unknown
The FCC website you have to pay to put a complaint in, why would i have to pay to complain someone keeps calling my house, that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard of
Michelle 2013-02-14 23:42:33 Unknown
Just a correction.... It's www.fcc.gov Just want to make sure everyone's complaints get to the right place!
Chuck 2013-02-08 18:36:38 Unknown
Received another call from this bogus caller at 12:00 noon on February 8, 2013. Caller ID saves me the trouble of answering bogus calls and is worth the added expense. I only answer calls that are either from friends or from businesses I know. Like other people have said, having your phone number on the Do Not Call list is worthless because these low-lifes call the same as they did before the "do not call" list was created.

I am getting calls from 626-668-8224 Country: USA Location: California about cutting down the interest on my credit cards. This is very annoying especially when they call at 8:30 in the morning.
john 2013-02-04 21:10:22 Unknown
I called back and said stop calling my neighbors, i can I break into there houses if you keep sending them a warning lol
James 2013-02-01 16:54:36 Unknown
It may be "all you have to do" individually, but multiply that by the thousands of people they call (in violation of Do-Not-Call) and we're talking about a lot of wasted time.
jim r 2013-01-31 16:40:03 Telemarketer
This number calls 3-4 times a week, a recorded voice saying there has been a break in in my neighborhood and do I want a free alarm system. When I pushed 1 to get a live person, I asked what company they are from and they stated Watch Dog Security out of Southfield, Michigan. I asked where is your home base and they said 'Screw You' and hung up. Watch Dog Security phone number is 248 200 3730. I called them and spoke with Steve and Steve said he would take care of calls coming to my house. CALL STEVE and let him know what jerks they have calling for them.
