I got a call this morning from this number said that my bank of american debit card had been closed. i did not try to call back. thought it was a scammer
Bill 2014-06-23 12:48:38 Unknown
The same just happened to me.
Kelly 2014-06-22 20:09:17 Unknown
This is what they said to me too! I hung up. all of my debits are fine.
Dave 2014-06-22 18:49:20 Unknown
Yep, I just got a "Netspend" call too. Hung up instead of pressing 1. Calling them back got me their phone tree, even the choices presented on that makes them seem like overly-aggressive, shady telemarketers/scammers.

this number woke me up saying that my NetSpend account was suspended and I don't even have one obviously a scam
Michelle 2014-06-22 12:31:41 Unknown
Got a call from this number in Illinois saying my debit card was suspended, to reactivated please enter 16 numbers on my card. Such BS.
Monkeyaround 2014-06-20 23:50:56 Unknown
I got this call earlier today. I pressed 0 to see if I could get a live person. It just repeats that my card was suspended. I pressed 1 until it asked for my card #. As I do not have a net spend card I figured it had to be a scam so I hung up.
Tara 2014-06-20 23:46:21 Unknown
I got the same thing.

My netspend card has been deactivated! Ohh no! Well I decided to have fun with it. I stayed I the line for over 15 min inputting as many fake card numbers as I could. Then I called the number back about 10 times leaving them various jokes on the answering machine. I finally called and hit option two to remove myself from the list. I also report them to the do not call list, as robo calls are illegal.

I just got the same call telling me by ??? card has been suspended and to press 1 to reactivate it. I waiting on the line without pressing any numbers, it didn't give me more options so I hung up. Just like the other posts, a live person would call me if there's a problem with my cards.
Anon2 2014-06-20 21:02:10 Unknown
got the same call about card being suspended. i went as far as i could in the menu to see what they were after- first thing was 'please provide us with your credit card number' .. so i hung up. I called back to see how bad they were spoofing the number, got on hold music and they told me to leave a message. Hopefully people realize that actual credit card companies don't ask you to leave a message! I get calls from 'SEO' experts as well, and when I ask them to identify their company, they hang up. There also is a jury scam out there as well ...

Another attempted credit card scam. When will these f**s get a real job? Smh
karen 2014-06-20 16:43:37 Unknown
yep same as others about credit card being suspended. couldn't catch what company it said. stayed on line just to see what would happen or if it would repeat for a name but nothing further. I hung up. I have a landline but this was on my cell phone which is also on the do not call list.

Just received a call on my office line from 630-491-0147. Automated message stating: your debit card has been suspended, please press 1 to resolve the issue. I stayed on line to see what happens...after 30 seconds it automatically hangs up. Called my bank..no issues..another phishing scam.
Jeremy 2014-06-20 13:46:39 Unknown
Said my credit card had been deactivated due to fraud. Press 1 to continue to reactivate my credit card, please have your credit card information available. I just hung up, so I do not have any more details.
Sean 2014-06-11 20:24:24 Unknown
The same thing just happened to me as well. Said my debit card was suspended, sounded like the group was called "NetSpend" or something like that. Automated voice, I certainly didn't press 1.

Got a call from this number. It was a recorded message telling me my debit card has been suspended, and to reactivate it, press one. Then it hung up on me when I didn't press 1. Called back, pressed 1 to talk to customer service yo find out who this is. Got an answering machine.
I am Not. Amused. Furthermore, never found out what company this was from.

Received a call from 630-491-0147. Don't know why but I answered it. Was a recorded message claiming to be in regards to a job interview with a job paying something like $500 and some change a week with a follow-up phone number. Gotta be some type of scam.
Cindy 2014-01-20 14:10:01 Telemarketer
Didn't answer. Garbled message left about a job making $501k a week. Yeah right.
Laura 2013-07-26 20:11:30 Telemarketer
They offered me a job! (depending on my qualifications) Stopped listening after that.

I received multiple calls from this number. They first started at 2 am, then 4 am & 6 am. When I would answer I could hear breathing on the other end but that was all. Really weird... I asked what they wanted but I would hear a soft moan then the line would go dead. Trippy man
Kagey 2013-07-26 17:24:47 Unknown
Mine was as 1215. They left a voicemail (well, really half a voicemail as the first part got cut off) and it was some kind of recording that said "stay on the line so we can transfer you to a pollster who will ask you a few more questions"
irritating.

Free Gov grant scam http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams
anonymous 2013-01-11 20:50:34 Unknown
THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

REceived a call telling me I had been given a grant by the government, given a confirmation code and another number to call. $7,000 - because I've never declared bankrupcy. Very thick accent hard to understand - lots of background noise.
Jeff 2013-01-11 16:53:48 Unknown
Just got the call too. The man had a thick Inidan accent and said he was from Microsoft tech support. He claimed that I had malicious spyware and that a hacker was pulling files from my computer. Then, he said that in order to fix it he would need to show me how on my computer. YEAH RIGHT.. I told him I would run a virus scan and hung up on him. Thanks for the information on this site, I know this is not true.

Got a call from this number last night. Young man with strong accent (East Indian, I think) claimed to be from online tech support. He told me my computer had been downloading dangerous files. I told him that since it was turned off, I didn't think it was downloading anything. He said over the past few weeks and they just wanted to notify my. I said thank you & good-bye. Clearly a scam. Doubly funny because I work in tech support and teach classes on computers -- and have already heard of this scam. They hope the computer is on & you will give them information that allows them to download malware to your computer. Don't fall for calls that come from tech support -- unless you have called them first. !
