Company calls 4+ times a day every day to promote Cablevision. I asked them to stop calling last year to no avail.

I received a call from CSC Holdings, but the number was 631-393-3105. I answered and hung right up.

Most likely they are scammers who disobey the law in any event.  You might consider investing in a call blocker.  They have them for sale on Amazon.  Digitone is supposed to be pretty good.

These people have been calling my house non-stop and never leave a message.  I am a disabled senior citizen who can't be jumping to answer a call, especially from an unknown number!  I am on the do not call list, so I can't understand why I keep receiving these calls!  Very annoyed!!!

I got this call, but from ext 3105.  I found this thread by searching on CSC Holdings.  How funny though, my answering machine was full.

I was getting one harassing call daily that started promptly at 8:00AM and went to 9:00PM (usually the last was time stamped 8:57 or 8:58PM).  It was so frequent that we stopped responding when the phone rang.  Anyway, I was trying to pick up and scream in the receiver - I have done that and it sometimes got my number removed without me asking. If you have the time and want to have some fun with them, you can do the Seinfeld trick - ask them for their home number (I did that once to a woman. At first she started to give me the business number, but I said, "No, your home number so I can call you at home. She was SO shocked she didn't know what to say, then said something like "i can't do that, or that wouldn't be appropriate" or something to that affect, and I told her "Why, you called me at my home; Then I should be able to call you at your home and annoy you."  <click>  LOL - it was a hoot!)
- Or ask them what they are wearing. If they tell you that's inappropriate, various responses could be: Well, that's what you interrupted me from doing. OR  Your unsolicited, annoying phone calls are inappropriate also, but you still did it.  Or make up your own, have fun with it. What are they going to do, Report You!????? LOL  If they're going to bother us, let's bother them back. Besides, getting a laugh out of it will lower your anger, stress and blood pressure, and the chemicals released in the body from laughing will do you a lot of good. who knows, you might even miss these annoying calls once they've stopped.

You could try to call your local police and report them for harassment, call your country DA's office, or the DA's office in CAC's county - if that differs from yours, or the Dept of Consumer Affairs in  Albany might be a stronger bet. I once called Consumer Affairs about an issue and the lady with whom I spoke sounded very serious. She didn't at all try to brush aside the issue. In fact, she encouraged me to file a complaint.

The problem is that we should call officials each and EVRY time we get a call. If they got the 8 - 10 calls per day from each of us when we get these calls, then they might resolve the issue just to get us off their backs.

Since CSC is calling about phone matters, call your phone company and demand they do something about this, at least to block that number from calling you. Tell them if they don't that you'll switch to another provider - then follow through with your threat, and when you call o disconnect your service, tell them WHY.  Money talks; if they lose enough customers they over this they will do something about it.  even though they don't offer the Block service they most likely can, and if not they'll develop it quickly to retain and get back their lost customers. (But then make them give you a huge discount to return).

We have to start organizing and standing up to these stupid, crooked corporations who control our government. One way is through money - walking away with our business.

Unwanted calls throughout the day/evening

I began getting calls from this number when I got cable bundle with phone. Caller id says CVC other times unknow. If I answer it. A robotvasks if I am ...  certain name.

yes I too get at least 3 calls a day. this is harassment and they should be fined and jailed

Same as the last 4 pages - calls every day, no message.  WHAT NUMBER DO I CALL TO HAVE THEM PUT ME ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST?  I'm already on the national do not call registry.  Also, I saw that someone said they blocked their call.  Can you block calls from certain numbers on a home phone?

Someone called me from the same number, 631-393-3106. He claims to be from Cable Vision and claims that he is returning my call, but I did not call him.  Caller ID says his company is "CSC Holdings".

Have no idea what CSC Holdings is & I don't care to know.  When I see it on the caller ID I just pick up the receiver and slam in back down.  Probably the usual scam artists.

now this number shows up as CSC Holdings - used to be Cocoa, Florida.  claims they are calling from Optima and not a telemarketer.  they have called this house 4 to 5 times a day.  Last night they called at 8:49pm.  I have blocked their number from my phone, so it doesn't go through.  This has not stopped them as they have been calling every day all the time for at least a week.  The first time the number appeared the phone was picked up and a recording said "you have been selected. I just hung up .

I received a call from this number and called back it was cable vision. I couldn't get connected to anyone so I called my local cable co. I was told the number was from L.I NY and was probably a sales call. I asked not to be called and I was removed from the calling list. I will let you all know if they call again.

Adding on...  also like to mention JUST in case as a precaution ...  Even though CSC Holdings may appear legit, still..it is wise NEVER to give any personal information, purchase from, give account numbers to to "upgrade", etc.  to this particular business affiliated company.  If you wish to do that, always contact your Cable company directly itself and let CSC Holdings know that is what you wish to do if you decided to upgrade any features.  Also, from what I read it appears that Cablevision may be one of their main affiliates, but other Cable companies might also be affiliated with them as well.  In other words, don't feel threatened by the call but still be cautious.

We've received telemarketing calls from this number at least once a week asking if we would like to update our Cablevision service.  I did call the number back and had gotten connected to an automated message giving me a choice to be put on a Do Not Call list which at least shows they have some concern for privacy.  

One thing I have to say is that I was also pleased to have at least been able to see the number on the caller Id (they don't appear to "disguise" themselves with "Unknown" identities) and although the name on Caller ID shows as  "CSC Holdings":  Paste link:  http://investing.businessweek.com/research/st ... ivcapId=3542911.   If you followed the link they seem to be some type of subsidiary for certain Cable TV companies which may "hire" them to do some of their sales marketing which probably is also the reason they have our unpublished telephone number

So although their telemarketing calls may be a nuisance, they don't try to disguise themselves, they offer the choice to be put on their "Do Not Call List" and with some research on CSC Holdings, it appears to be a legitimate company that works with Cable companies as far as sales marketing.  

I don't worry too much about it now because it doesn't appear to be a scam.  If you get a call from them, just tell them that if you wish to upgrade your service, you'll just contact your Cable company directly.  Then call the number back and opt to be put on the "Do Not Call List".  It will take 30 days to take effect.  (I wouldn't bother telling the rep  since it seems he/she is working for a subsidiary company affiliated with, not the actual Cable Co and may take longer to go into effect then if you were to simply call the number back and use the automated service to be taken off their calling list.).

It sucks to hear you hate Cablevision, brings me to the conclusion that they all suck because I loathe Verizon.  I would go without Phone, Internet and TV before I would ever give Verizon another nickel of mine.  They are nothing but a bunch of BS artists that tell you none thing then bill you for something else and then cop a attitude when you call to talk about it.  Any real service provider (like myself) would be ashamed to do the things Verizon does to its customers.

Cablevision has its issues, but they are by far the best of 2 evils.

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH CABLEVISION!!!!   THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH !!!  OH WAIT, UNLESS THEY WANT YOUR BUSINESS,  THEN THEY ARE THE BEST!!!

631 393 3106 calls me about 8 times per day.  If I answer, no one responds.  I have blocked their calls but they continuously try to make contact.  This is very un-nerving.  I have learned that it is Cablevision and would never accept service with that company

This number calls me at least once a day, sometimes twice.  The caller never leaves a voicemail.

Too many calls from this number.  They've been reported to the Do Not Call Registry a number of times.  Never a message on voice mail, but phone's marquee states that the company's name is CSI Holdings.

Call all the time . When I answer they don't say anything. When I don't answer they never leave a message. Also on Do Not Call list. Very annoying.
