I've just answered a call from that number and it's Citibank informing me that I have an increase in my credit limit and that I am qualified for a cash loan at lowest rate.

Having my card rejected was beyond embarassing.  I got rid of that card.  The bank was protecting themself, not me.  

I have a card through the bank where I have a checking account.  I use it for just about everything, but I pay it off every month.  Its nice to have when I travel.

If you think about it, that is for your own protection. Although I can't remember I had experienced that before. Must be a hassle.

Do I really want Citi CC? A relative question. For the purposes of convenience of having a CC, why not? I had a total of probably 10 Citi CCs in the past 10yrs. They constantly send me different CCs (there were times I received a CC when I didn't ask for one). Cut 6 of them while 4 remain active. Although I only use one regularly. I have other bank CCs. Reason for having more than 1 CC is for leverage. When yearly membership kicks in, I just call Citi and ask for waiver. If they don't waive my membership, I just ask them to discontinue it - I'm not afraid to tell them to cut it because I have other CCs. Same with other bank CCs... Haven't paid membership fees for a long time (probably 8 yrs now).

Conclusion: not that I want Citi CC, I'm ok with having one though. :) it doesn't hurt to have one. It works to my advantage actually... although it will hurt if you don't know how to control using it. Hehe.

I don't think its from Citibank.  I think its from a scammer pretending to be Citibank.  He offers you a credit card.  You give him your personal information to get the card.  He spends all of your money and never sends you a card.  

Even if it is real, do you really want a card from Citibank?  I had one, but I cancelled it when they wouldn't let me use it more than once/day.  Seriously.  One day I tried to make 3 purchases, all within 25 miles of my house.  They accepted the first one.  For the second one they called my home landline to confirm it was me, but no one answered the call.  Of course not.  I was out shopping.  The third purchase was rejected.

I've been receiving calls from the said number as well, for almost 2 mos mow. It was intermittent though..
Usually it rings my phone around 11am.

Keeps on calling, everytime I answer call is dropped. Tried calling them back but only get busy tone.

Received a call today.  When I answered nobody was answering.  It may be from Citibank.

The caller using this number has bugged me a couple of times already. Calling but no one answers and when you call back you hear only busy tone.

Agent introduced himself as Citibank representative. Said that having good credit standing with my credit card account, I was entitled to receive a new card without any requirements and free of charge. Then asked for identity confirmation by asking for my date of birth. I declined to answer any of the questions.

I missed a call from this number, too. When i tried to call back, line is (forever) busy.
