Yes, they check out.  However, they aren't BBB accredited.  They also have an F rating due to the complaints filed against them.

I am in the bed and breakfast  business and I have one of those phones but these annoying skammers are getting smarter.  They are now calling under peoples names.  I have to answer all calls except unknown because it could be business.  However the call block phones do help a great deal with the obvious ones.

Got a call from this number but didn't answer. No message left. Called the # back and a recording offered the option to be placed on their do not call list by pressing 1. Not sure that ever works...

Ha, ha!!  I do that too!!  Any unwanted call gets tagged so if they call again, I know immediately to ignore it or pick it up after letting it ring for 30 seconds and then disconnect.  It makes my day!!

Yes, I too got a call from 636-333-9022 this afternoon @ 12:42 pm, interrupting my lunch break.  I used to become peeved, irrate & and down right furious at these telemarketing calls.  I left this one go to the answering machine.  Same message as above, press 1 to be connected to a "consultant", press 9 to be removed, ha-ha of course they won't remove your # at all.  [In fact they will probably keep calling you even more frequently...]

HERE IS THE VERY SIMPLE, MIND-SAVING ANSWER.  (This is published in the front of phone book where it lists the services that your phone service provides in basic services, Phone Service Pages, in the Qwest/Dex phone books (aka CenturyLink).  The service is CALL REJECTION - press *60 to reject the current or most recent call.  Yes, you have to do this manually, but it is worth peace of mind.  (if you did this to a call you DO want by mistake just press *80 and it will correct itself.)  Your phone will still ring, but you can't hear the caller and they can't hear you.  They get tired of trying.  Another 'tactic'--one thatreally boggles up the 'robo-call system' -- is the do the*60 and then press every # on the keypad 10, 15 or 20 each and in no particular order until the phone won't let you press anymore about 50-60 times.  (That will confuse the system & help you get out a little bit of your frustration too.)  Good luck & *60 them!

Not the Panasonic or Uniden models I've seen.

Again, what are the model numbers of the phones you're talking about? My guess is that they have been discontinued due to pressure from the marketing associations, and replaced with the brain-damaged models I've been seeing.

I add my "bad" numbers ot my phone listing with the word  "SKAM"
I tried forwarding one skam call to another skam call, but that didn't work on my service.
I am told if you answer and punch # 6  it will remove you from the robo call list.  Don't know but am going to try it.

THEY CALLED AGAIN TODAY AT 11:19 am.

THEY ALSO CALL FROM 636 333-9020.

BOTH OF THEIR NUMBERS ARE BLOCKED.

TO ANSWER "Fed Up"...BOTH THE PANASONIC AND THE UNIDEN PHONES BLOCK "OUT OF AREA," "UNKNOWN" AND "PRIVATE" NUMBERS.  WITH THE UNIDEN PHONE, YOU SIMPLY PRESS THE "BLOCK" BUTTON WHEN A TELEMARKETER CALL COMES IN.  SO SIMPLE!

THE PANASONIC PHONE IS SLIGHTLY MORE COMPLICATED (THAN THE UNIDEN PHONE) TO BLOCK A NUMBER - BUT STILL QUITE EASY.

Got the same message as Fed Up on September 6.  Answered the phone on the first ring.  The recorded message starts in the middle, just like the one on his machine, with an additional press 1 to be connected at the end.  It's not that they're too stupid to put a call back number in the recording, it's that they don't want you to be able to think about their product or service, they want you to have to make the decision now, or risk losing the chance.  Also, having a valid number connected to the recording gives officials and people with a grudge something to trace back to the company.

My cable service also has land line phone service. It's the greatest because it has selective call rejection. No more anonymous calls and if I get a call I don't recognize, I Google it and find it is a telemarketer or some other a$$ hole I Don't want to talk to, I enter their number in the phone manager and no more ringing at my home. If you don't have a service like this try this web site or Google call rejection for more ideas. This site has some neat stuff.     http://www.privacycorps.com/products    Copy and paste. good luck.

Do you have a model number?

Every one of these I've seen is crap. Won't block unknown callers, or require numbers be manually entered, or require full numbers, or have limited list size, don't have ring/record/ignore options, etc.

An excellent product would:

have a decent-sized number list (200-500)

allow listing by wildcards (all 800 numbers)

allow listing by lack of information (blocked number, out-of-area number, no number, number but no name, etc.)

allow listing by name ("toll free call," "wireless caller," "customer service," or any of the 100+ numbers for "portfoliorecov" that keep asking for the deadbeat that had my number over twelve years ago).

allow blacklisting and whitelisting (e.g., send all 800 numbers to answering machine, except ring phone for the ones I specify)

allow entry and editing of numbers and rules from computer, via USB port.

allow creation of rules from caller ID information.

have the following call handling options:
Ring phone
Send directly to answering machine
Play message but don't give option of leaving message
Not ring phone, but send to answering machine after a delay (so caller thinks your phone rang, but you're not in - great for my mother-in-law)
Play three-tone "number has been disconnected" message.
Play different answering machine messages for different incoming numbers (family/friends/strangers)

I would happily pay $100-$200 for a box like this, even without a built-in phone and answering machine.

Of course, anyone who tried to make a device like this would probably get sued to kingdom come by the various marketing associations.

Left the following message on my home answering machine: ". . . off the ground. For a free confidential consultation to see if your business is eligible, please press 1 now to be connected directly to a trained business consultant to get the information you need and to see if this option is right for you. Remember, the call is free, but the results could change your life. If you have received this call in error, and want to opt out, press 9."

Idiots can't even afford a machine that detects answering machines, and don't have sense enough to put a call back number in their message.I know telemarketers are stupid, but. . .

We are on the state and federal do not call lists.

THEY CALLED MY OFFICE TODAY.

THEIR NUMBER IS NOW BLOCKED.

TO EVERYONE:
+++++++BEING ANGRY OR UPSET WILL NOT HELP YOU!!!!
            *********YOU MUST BE PRO-ACTIVE!!!++++++
PLEASE READ BELOW!
FACT 1 - the DNC list CLEARLY does not work!  Everyone knows this...or should know this!
FACT 2 - filing a complaint with the FCC does not work!  A total and complete waste of time.  Done that.
FACT 3 - having an unlisted phone will not help you.
FACT 4 - asking/begging telemarketers to take you off their call list ? you?ll get laughed at!
FACT 5 - no "class action" law suits are being filed and certainly, none are being LITIGATED.
FACT 6 ? contacting the BBB ? LAUGHABLE!!!  The BBB is a corrupt organization that sells their ratings to the highest bidder.

*********QUIT BEING FRUSTRATED OVER TELEMARKETER CALLS! ********

*******************QUIT BEING A VICTIM!!! *****************

PLEASE DO THIS!     PURCHASE A CALL BLOCKING TELEPHONE!!!

Call blocking phones are very inexpensive $40-$60 and they come with, at least, one wireless handset.  Very, very convenient.

***********DON'T GET MAD ? HIT BACK! ************

STOP  BEING  ANNOYED

STOP  BEING  A  VICTIM.

STOP COMPLAINING!

BUY A CALL BLOCKING PHONE!

Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones.  They?re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd wireless handset.  COSTCO & AMAZON SELL THEM.

They work beautifully!  These phones also block
?PRIVATE,? ?OUT OF AREA? and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!

I have had the same home number and the same business phone number for over 15 years and my home and my business lines (both published) seem to be on every call list imaginable.  I bought a Panasonic call blocking phone for my home and I bought a Uniden call blocking telephone for my business.

NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TELEMARKETERS.   THEY CAN?T GET THROUGH!

We can stop these telemarketers IF we all buy a call blocking phone.

**********NOTHING ELSE WILL STOP THESE TELEMARKETERS! *********
