No idea who is behind this , but I am reporting to the police

Last year I got a similar text. A chick told me her dad died in Nigeria and she was in the middle of selling real estate properties of deceased dad. Was in a hotel, she asked me to pay her food tab bc she's patiently waiting for tape to release her millions, and she was going to take a plane to my Hick town so we could get married!!!! Funny, as soon as she was certain my $ only goes to crack dealers in MY country, suddenly she was concerned about our freshly blossomed relationship, and told me there has to b trust in any healthy marriage, and she dumped me!!!! Oh Anna!! Please take me back!!! Not.

Got the message at 2am, saying the same thing...form urscrt.com. whic turns out to be some adult dating site. I really wonder how they got my number.

I got the same msg at 2:28am on feb 22, I have a toronto area code but live in halifax and I haven't given anybody my number so I have no idea how this person got it... anyone know?

Yup, i've received two text messages from this same number in the last week.  I do not give out my cell number a lot, i'm not "out there" on the web, so have no idea how this happened.  The only other spam type messages i ever got on this number were from Eastern Europe for some odd reason...

Just who the hell is this person???....How can we stop this ......has sent now 3 messages to me in the last week!!!....i phone the number back can not even leave a message because the mail box is full!!!
Please tell me what can be done to get rid of this F@##king moron thank you!!!

I attended a conference recently in Downtown Toronto that requested our numbers. Each booth at the conference had a scanner that scanned our name tags/bar-codes and collected phone numbers and email addresses. The booths were primarily American companies that came up for the conference. Seeing as this is a New York area code, this is the only thought I have as to where this spammer obtained my phone number.
I did not give out my number to anyone else recently.

Now that I think about it: the only other place my number would be 'posted' is on GoDaddy's whois page on my domains. Look into this as well if you've received an SMS from this number.

i was at a speed dating event last night, where i gave out my phone number. then i got this message from this number thinking it might be some people who are interested then i realized 646 is not an area code i heard of from where i live. nice scam especially after valentines day.
