After reading this, I decided to answer since the calls have been coming in regularly for 2 weeks. I travel cross country a lot, and when I'm on the east coast, the damn phone rings at 6:30 am from there. Turns out it's a telemarketer, they use an auto dialer. It took them a few moments to pick up the call after I answered. They wanted information about a renewal to a free magazine I've been throwing away, so the first words out of my mouth were "Stop calling me, I'm very annoyed with all the calls from this number." She said thank you and that was that. Hopefully the calls will stop, but if they call again, my response will escalate.

Got a call a couple hours ago on my cell phone. It rang twice and then they hung up.

Repeated calls - mostly before noon EST.

this number is supposed to be a manhattan new york number.

as others have indicated, caller id is "united online"

I keep getting a call from this number, no message, usually morning time, interesting to see that other people are experiencing the same problem...

They have been calling me to get me to agree to a free subscription to TV Technology Magazine.  I have told them over and over to get my name off their list.  I suspect they got my info from NAB, since all of these magazines do have a presence there evry year.

My number is on the Do Not Call List too, so I want to find out the address of Northern so they can start being dinged for every call.  TV Technology and Pro Audio Review are run by IMAS Publishing. Call their subscription area and give them hell about these calls.  703-998-7600   Tell them to end their relationship with this Northern call center.

Two rings, then hung up (call to my cell phone). No message, no caller ID.

I've gotten several calls from this number, as well as calls from other numbers on my cell phone.

I've received about a call a day from these people, but I've never answered since I researched it before I picked up (thanks to this site!) I've added the number as a contact in my phone and given it a "silent" ringtone, so even if they keep calling me, I'll never know.  Unfortunately my understanding of the Do Not Call registry is that it doesn't apply to cell phones.

I received a call from this number today at 9:39am Central. No one on the other end. "Name unknown" on my Verizon phone.

These guys have called 3 times.

Usually there is silence if you answer. I've tried calling back, but only got a woman's voice on an answering machine.
My number is listed on the "Do Not Call" List, but this seems to have no effect.

It is a company that said they wanted to update my FREE subscription to some technology magazine...

I receive 8-10 calls per day from this number (for 2 weeks now). It disconnects when I hang up. I've called back and get an answering machine with a message saying "You have reached Northern, please leave a message". No one ever answers the line. I left 1 message asking them to stop calling me, but that seems to have increased the number of calls I get daily.

Is there anything I can do to stop these calls?  They've been calling me at about 7:00 in the morning, which quite frankly, is a good bit earlier than I prefer to awaken.

I've been getting calls from this number as well and haven't picked up, nor has the caller left a message.  Interesting to see that others have gotten this as well.

I thought it was an ex-girlfriend stalking me or something

My caller id said 'United Online'.  United Online apparently Netzero, classmates.com and other internet related stuff.

I thought it was a sales call, but they didn't leave a message.

I've gotten several calls from this number, as well as calls from other numbers on my cell phone.  I am assuming it is a "spoofed" number so I don't bother doing a search or anything like that.  I've contacted my cell phone provider (AT&T) but they are not much help.  At least the spam text messages to my cell phone have stopped, but I had to completely block that feature.  In Europe, the sender pays for text messages, so spam text messages are not a problem for consumers.  Here, since phone service providers collect from receivers and senders, there is no incentive for them to do anything about that annoyance.

I get a call from this number about once a week, very early in the morning.  I never pick up and they never leave a message.

This number has called my cell number repeated over the past two days.  Finally answered it and they asked for a person by name.  When I stated that there was no one by this name connected with this phone number they asked if this was Precision Interconnect (which is a New York Telecommunications Company).  Told them NO, and they are still calling my cell number - I am ignoring the calls and have reported them to my service provider.

I receive several call from them daily.
I answered once and told them to stop calling.
They continue to call

this number 646-308-0915 has been harrassing me for a month now. i do not answer because i think it is a warranty broker - they called before and i answered a long time ago and they  tried to sell me another warranty on my dodge.  i quit answering and now they call 5 to 8 times a day. no message.
i was concerned that it might be a collection agency calling on an account that may have been  an identity theft fraud but i checked my credit report and im clean.  this has to be a third party solicitor that has no one to answer to at all. i checked the service provider and they went bankrupt in 2003 so its anybody's guess how this one works.  

there should be a way to report these A-holes - like the above posts note - if it was truly important or a matter of legit business then they would leave a message - id just like to make them stop.

I get 8-10 calls a day from this number at my business. Also comes up as United Online, but if I pick up it disconnects immediately. Tried AT&T and they said I would have to pay them to block the number. Called it back myself and got the "This is Northern, please leave a message" voicemail.

I also finally answered the call, it was to renew a free magazine that I had subscribed to, Pro Audio Review.

Didn't recognize the number and didn't answer.  Caller left no message.  Like Bonnie in the message above, I had a free subscription to DV Magazine.

I FINALLY ANSWERED when I received a third call from this number.

It was a man with an Indian accent in what sounded like a very loud call center.

He had my name and was calling to renew my free subscription of a magazine I actually do receive (DV Magazine - Digital Video). I told him I no longer needed it and told him why when he asked and he thanked me politely and hung up.

Got a call from this number on October 31, 2007. Did not answer, no message left.

Didn't answer - no message. 3 times in one day.

Received a call from this number on Oct. 30, 2007 on my office phone rang once and stopped before I tried to pick up.
