If you put all these above listed notes together, that is what I have been getting.  I am tired and am going to call my local police department.  They are calling me and it shows up as a 911 call to me.  Yet when I am done with my phone call and do not satisfy this guy it shows up in my recent calls as the 646-369-1377 number.  How are these guys doing this.????

Police department here I come. Tomorrow.

I see we're all getting the same message from this foreign person. I was just left a message that I will be arrested if me or my lawyer does not call this person back right now. I kinda figured it was a scam especially since I recieved another call last month from someone with the same accent stating that i was approved for a pay day loan of $1500 and all I had to do was place some money on a green dot card so they could prove that I could pay the money back. Everyone seems to be scheming now a days. Sorry I ever applied for a pay day loan. Lessoned Learned!!!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

Received a call saying that I needed to turn myself in and that his name was Deputy Stanley Morgan, and was calling from the FBI.  I owed money on a loan, and needed to pay over $400.00 now or they would be at my work to arrest me.

I got a call saying I will be getting arrested because my ss number is applied with a online payday loan. But remind you that the call was from that number and it says its from the Sheiffs office of Manhatten NY but I owe a loan to Alabama. They says the police is on the way and I will be getting arrested
