I posted ads on Craigslist to sell some furniture since I was moving.  I was contacted by "Arat Popsy" who eventually wrote that the personal email address was aratholdings@googlemail.com and texted me from 646-484-9622.  The person wanted my address to send a check to me in the mail and arrange for their "shipper" to pick up the items.  I let Craigslist know.  

 I also got a text from this number to see if I deposited that big check so I could send them their money.  Ha Ha! Not that stupid!!!!

My husband had a similar experience. What I don't understand is why he wants to pay us additional money thru Paypal.  Wouldn't he be out the money? How can he make any money on the deal?

Tried same scam on me

This number keeps coming up in reference to a Craigslist Ad for a guitar pedal. It was listed at 270.00, this guy text me with a 450.00 dollar best offer, wants my name, address, etc etc to send me a Cashiers check. He wants to have his 'shipper' pick up the very small item, therefore wants to add some extra money to the check for me to pay to his shipper.
I countered with an offer to Ship anywhere in USA at no extra charge once I had Cash in hand and a valid shipping address acceptable to UPS, USPS or Fedx.  No Response.

The man with this phone number sent me a counterfeit check to pay a week salary for a job and to send the rest to a car agency.
