Holy cow!  I got the exact same message as the one listed on Dec 13th.  Sickening to think someone would impersonate a deaf person like this.  I talked to my sales director who said it was fraud.  Question is, did anyone actually receive the check or money order?  I am still waiting for this to show up, but I don't know if I will actually receive it or not.  If I do, I will report it to the bank and the police.  Did anyone let her know they were into her?  I really want these people to get caught.  The whole thing was making me uncomfortable, especially when she said that the money orders were way over her total order amount and to wire the money Western Union.  I am glad I Google searched this person.

This number has text me today and two weeks ago started emailing me saying that her mary kay consultant had cancer and her daughter was getting married and she wanted to order some product. Also she says she is on naval base and can only talk thru emails with a few days in between . Her name is Diana Johnson on my emails. And her second email says that her daughter is in Africa visiting her father. Meanwhile the father passes away and the daughter has a car accident and is sent to the hospital. Her third email says that her naval commander office clerk wrote the cashiers check for a large lump sum. Never specific on the total. Her original marykay order was for $200. She just says that the naval clerk made the check for over the amount due for marykay product. She asks can I trust you (me) to forward the rest of the money to an address. .....   I have not received anything in the mail, ups, fedex. Today she text me to ask me to send the money . I have not received anything or sent her product either.

Who is this person?????

I am a Christian and integrity in my dealings is very important.  However, I do not know how to take a money order, only take what I need, and send the rest back, if that is what you mean.  So I will wait until the proper amount can be issued to me and destroy the money order when it arrives, if that is acceptable to you or the bank or however that works.  Nothing will be ordered or sent until I have the correct amount securely deposited in my name, and then I will place the order.  I promise to be honest- my Christmas would not be Merry if I were not!  I hope it works out for you and am very sorry for all your misfortunes.  May God bless you!

Hi I just got the Gail Huffman thing too.  I am a new rep for Gold Canyon and her story is exactly the same as what is being written here.  She is deaf, has 2 daughters, one of which is getting married.  She's just been in an accident and lucky to be alive.  Her insurance agent (maybe?) sent out a check to me with the wrong amount.  Could I just deduct from the check what she owes me for this Gold Canyon order (thank goodness I got nervous- I was enthused at first) and bring it to the closest Western Union (and also deduct the amount it cost to wire) and please send the rest to her doctor.  I showed it to my bank, and she could tell right off that the check I'd gotten was likely bogus because of the way the numbers were on the bottom.  I did tell this "Gail" that I would not accept her money and do business like that for her, and that I would destroy the check upon receipt.  It was a $1700 check!  My bank is checking into it but this is all confirming for me what a scam this is.  Interesting to know that as soon as she could tell I was getting suspicious I have stopped getting emails from her!  Seems like you'd like to chase down $1700 if it was real!!!  So it is recommended to go to the cops with this then I am guessing?  Can I not just have the check destroyed? My banker also recommended destroying all emails from her, printing them out if I needed a hard copy for any reason.

i received texts/emails from a man,Larry Carter, seeking a Secretary/personal assistant, first task is to cash a check for him and send money to assigned orphanages.

Send to your local authorities when and if you receive a check. I gave it to them and they are investigating it!

I got this exact message from a lady with the name Teresa Mary. Same exact information on it! I have given the check to an under cover investigator/detective and he is giving it to the mail fraud department with the USPS. They are handling it now. I will be asked to do a police report and talk with the USPS about this situation. I hope it gets resolved soon. I hate that this person has my phone number!

I keep getting emails asking why I haven't responded back to this person. The investigator has the number so hopefully he'll be contacting them soon. I am not to have any other contact with this person.

I received the same thing.  I have attached the e-mail string, removing my personal information.  It is almost exactly the same as the above.  She/he then contacted me via text.  I told her that this was a scam and I wanted nothing to do with it.  If I do get a check, I will be giving it to my police department.

This is a scam if you receive a check from this person try to handle it as little as possible and take it to the police department. It is a fraudulent check written from a copy of a check. The account and business on the check match but when you cash it it WILL be returned and your account will be charged.  It is best to take it to the police, if so get as much information about this person as you can.
