i just got a text from the same number, wanting to buy a boat i had advertised on craigslist. i just had a similar deal with someone else. the name he used this time was Paul Smith. total scam, almost identical to the one i got just days ago.

I too got a text to buy my truck, would use paypal and then add the shipping in for me to give the hauler. I was to send a money order to the hauler. I even got emails, that looked sort of like paypal, but I called Paypal they confirmed it was not from them.
I figured in the beginning it was a scam, but had fun stringing them along, the poor spelling and text grammar along with the whole idea of buying with out talking.
I just sent them a text that the internet is talking about the number, and the fraud was being reported

I received a call from this number just now. Says that I was svammed by a payday loan. Peoples names scamming are Angel Jones & Craig. Claims FBI are investigating. Says its a fraud and to call him at this 646# to get my money back for loans. Says I need to send $350 to his boss Andrene Nelson in Portland Jamaica WL to recover funds and loan. Gave FBI code of RTZ40080040. Big SCAM! I lost money to pay fathers hospital stay on a false loan to cover his bills fro a recent major stroke that left him total disabled. So stupid an angry with myself. I was just trying to get extra funds to help care for him.

Getting Craigslist scam email & texts? Get rid of 99.9% of them by puting "Local only, NO Paypal". Whatever you are selling can be sold in your own home town.

Just got texts and an email for my craigslist post wanting us to open a paypal account for them to "pay" for our sectional for sale. They said they would take care of shipping and not to worry! What a SCAM! So glad I found that this hasn't just happened to us!

Got the same text message for my china hutch. Can't imagine anyone from New York wanting to pay shipping from California even though it is a Craigslist bargain. Glad for this service to help know these people are scammers.

Got a Sms from the same number just now. The author wanted my dining set and asked about condition and when I bought it, though both facts were in my Craigslist post today. Wanted to send me a PayPal transfer for the table and include the transport companys 580. To deliver it to him in Manhattan. It is a scam.

I believe this a scam. I don't know anyone from this numberl, and I want it to stop.
