I received a call from 646-506-4968. He said his name was Scott Anderson from the federal crime enforcement. Apparently there was a complaint case filed for my husband.   He claimed that there was a warrant issued under my husband"s name. I  am glad I found this site and I will definitely file a complaint against these people. I hope these scammer get busted soon. This is horrible!!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received a disturbing phone message when I arrived home from work today. An officer by the name of Scott Anderson claimed he was with the Federal Borough of Criminal Investigation, and that two crimes have been linked to my name, and that I should call him back before any further legal actions be taken. The officer has a thick Indian accent with very obscure request and allegations. It's a scam. I would not worry. If any legal actions are taken, you would receive a summons or be arrested.

Someone from 404-492-8127 keeping calling us, leaving treat message

They left a message with my mother to call a Lisa Hunter ASAP and if I did not call I might be arrested. I called the # and a guy picked up and said some company name which I did not understand so I asked him what the company and what did they do. He asked my name and I asked about the company again and he got agitated and kept asking my name which I finally gave to him and he hung up after that. It does seem like a hoax and I don't know how we can stop these international people with online #s to stop calling us. I get a lot of sales calls as well although my #s are on DNC, infact these callers are very aggressive and laugh when you tell them that the number is on DNC.

Its interesting to note that majority of the people who have reported this phone number here are people of indian origin.I suspect some company Which is common to all is leaking information about their customers to these scam masters.I hope the law enforcement catches up to these people.

Got a call today .Had a heavy  indian accent when i confronted them about it they started to use curse words.I hope FTC or the FBI can nail them and stop this.How are these people getting our numbers?

It looks like they got closed down, because as of yesterday it went straight to voicemail. Their other numbers also go straight to voice mail as well. Or they can be laying low because they know that now the government is back up and running they could get caught. And FYI, they are not a call center in India, they are most likely Pakistanis.

I got the same call,  what will happen next if you call them back?

Received a call for my boss saying the same as above.  Officer Lisa Hunter.  I knew this was a scam.

A scam. The guy was quite "speechless and shifty" in the few minutes I wasted on this call and hung up unceremoniously. Being from India I could detect an Indian accent.

Same thing happened to me just now, so i am googling it. I was in important meeting in my office and call came saying the same, three charges and want to settle out of court? Also he said, i am in the deportation list and local police on their to my home. For heaven sake, I have been in US for 15+ years, paying my tax regularly. I told him, i dont understand what is he saying and asked to repeat again so that I can record it. Thats it, he disconnected. These guys need to be nailed soon.

Same someone called. It seems like fraud..and he said the same thing. I told him that I need to talk to the lawyers and then call back.

This is a complete scam, they are diverting to a call center to India. The guy told me before he hung up, your government is in a shutdown there is no way to stop us! LOL. I think everyone should call them with you callerID blocked and just waste their time.

Received voice mail from Alex Martin mentioing legal proceedings in progress and when I called back him back he asked to pay a some of $48000 to close the proceedings. When I asked for details and paperwork he just hung up!

Officer Andrew called from Federal Crime and same story. To call back 646 713 2932. I do not know, how they get the number. Hope they get tracked soon.

Just got a call from 646-713-2932 at 3.43 pm today left me massage that they are calling from the Federal Bureau of Criminal investigations. He said a complaint had been filed against me.
I told them my lawyer will call you whom they need to speak. He said to talk with Brenden Trailer or Scott Anderson. I am glad that it was a spam.

I also received a call from this number at my place of business just today. Alex Martin called to say there had been a federal complaint case filed agents me and that he needed to take down my information. I was immediately put on guard as he was requesting information a federal employee should have on file if this was a valid claim.

I asked him to provide his contact information saying I would get back to him later. First big clue that my initial reaction was not unwarranted was that he miss spelled his name and had to correct himself. After taking down his number I went to Google and found many pages about this scam starting about the same time as the government shut down.

I will be contacting my local news to get the word out. I would hate for some trusting person to fall for this horrible scam.

Got a call from 646-713-2932 this morning and a woman with a nearly unintelligible accent claimed to be from the Federal Bureau of Criminal investigations. She said a complaint had been filed against me. When I told her that I thought this was a scam and that she should send me whatever complaint she had via registered mail, she said : "OK, I will arrest you." I was glad to find this site so that I was certain this was the scam I thought it was, and I that is why I'm posting my own experience here.

I also got similar call about an hour ago. He said his name is Jerry and Scott anderson is his manager. This is a pure phishing.

There would be NO valid reason for this call and the government isn't working, The IRS did NOT call you!

My wife picked up the phone and talked to person named Scott Anderson. She said that he had an indian accent and asked for me. He even knew her name. She got worried. I am glad I can show her this post to know it was a scam.

I got a call from the same number supposedly Lisa Hunter.  When I called back there was a guy with a very thick accent.  Claimed that I had not filed IRS form 61 (googled - no such form) which should be filed every 10 years and I hadn't so this was a problem so I could settle it by entering my email address and social security number and then pay up.  I refused and asked them to send me something in the US Mail.  He said something like "ok we'll harrass you then" and said "thank you" and hung up.  Very clearly a scam.

I got the same call just now, has to be. A scam, hopefully the police will be tracking them.

I got a call from this number. The guy who talked to me had a heavy accent and said he had fraudulent charges against us.

...I called the Police Department of my city and was astonished to know that I was 34th caller the officer talked to on this subject from the same city...

Please be alert there are absolute idiots out there who do not have any other job than make money through cheating
