Is there a "do not text" registry?
I know there is a way to have your phone number protected from advertisers with a do not call registry, but is there anything like that to protect my cell phone from advertisers texting me? I pay per message and my provider (verizon) says there is no way to block them. Thanks for any help!

YES! just dial *611 and ask they have a do not call and do not text number they can give you.
once you call you type in your number and they will block

I got the same message. You can report to the FCC at: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm under "telemarketing"-- there's a field for SMS spam.

I did not leave them a number, in case they are using that for another SPAM scheme, but I would like to know whether we can legally report these people, so that we can file an official legal complaint.
