He is looking for someone who can do roof work on a house he just purchased. Says his name is Mike Cowley. Left no address of the house. Say's he's hearing impaired so to text him or email him. want's to know our direct cell phone number ( so he can contact us direct) and what kind of checks or credit cards we accept for the work he's asking us to do. You can tell this is a scam fax etc.
Sorry scammer, we are not falling for it!

Real customers looking to fix their homes call us with their name, number and address as well as meet us in person for a bid and never ever ask us about our payment options via fax. You don't request a new roof via text...

I've had that Google voice number since 09/06/2010. I have NEVER texted anyone about any cars. It's some spoofing my number.

This is a Google Voice phone number. It has changed owners multiple times.

they tell you to open a paypal acc and they tell you they send more money of the price so the difference you must paid to someone before you can collect your money from paypal and if you do .... Bingo you are screw !! whach out do not follow repor to FBI they after them

Contacted me about my car on cl wanted to send certified check and said he already sent it but I'm not excepting it if it comes. It will be return to sender for that envelope.

5:04am received a text about an item on craigslist asking condition! my response to them was your just another d****ead scammer that's going to be out of work!!!!

I got one of these today from a different number.  I just took his number and used it as a contact number for free pit bull puppies on Craigslist.

Here's another texting scam number. Wanted to buy my 1980 Suzuki for his cousin as a surprise. (972) 439-5033. Send them my regards and rejection of their site unseen offer.

I think he has changed his number again to 201 949 0879. He's now willing to ship a car from Hawaii.

I posted a welder on Craigslist, and received a strange response.  The note appeared to be written by a foreigner.  What raised red flags for me was the fact that #1 he stated he was a merchant marine, #2 he indicated he was currently  out to sea, #3 requested to do the transaction via Paypal, #4 he would have a shipper pick up the item.  How many merchant marines do you know that can afford pricey equipment, in addition to utilizing a shipping service?  If you are out to sea at the moment, wouldn't the last thing you be doing is makine purchases on Craigslist?  I never responded to his message, and advise all to steer clear of those wishing to do business this way.

Omg. I wish I would have googled this BEFORE I sent my $600 for shipping.  I'm kicking the s*** out of myself.  First time selling on Craigslist and when I received his text wanting to go thru PayPal to protect HIM, I bought it. I feel sooooo stupid.  Even got the so called emails from PayPal stating the money was there pending my western union transfer.  I'm a college educated person who has heard all the scams about never sending money first, but the damn "PayPal" emails made me feel secure even though in my gut, I thought it was weird he could have 5 grand in PayPal and not have 600 to wire for shipping.  I feel like an idiot!  I've filed the Internet fraud complaint with FBI. It's awful to be so angry and have no one to punch!!

Same as the rest..wanted to buy my vehicle pay 100 more then what I was asking had my send an invoice for the amount and write up the terms..I said as is no warranty money must clear before signed over or before it can be moved..so the emailed back said would need me to cover 800 shipping fee plus 100 western union fee so 900..said they sent 3,900 total and said paypal wont let me have the money till I give them a money order number for the shipping.....well I didnt say id help or cover the shipping cost. Now there emailing me this number and saying that the fbi is looking for me that I have 12 hours to pay the shipping........I said tell them to call me write me or come see me and the vehicle ...

They text me trying to buy through his agent and paypal of a advertisement I put of car for sale in craiglist TX, I've been scammed already so I am to alert now...its so sad how its done and nothing is done to stop this I reported to paypal to Police until now nothing very very sad:(

woah ha the one time iam curious about who this guy was and i get it right ha he just tried to buy my truck and said he will pay for more then what it was through paypal and he emailed me everything about he wanted to by it for his dad and what not im glad i dont have a paypal and thank yall for the warning and thank u for google

I got the same text message. This guy is wanting to pay over what Im asking for my bike. He wanted my paypal account to send the payment and he would have someone pick it up. He said he lived in San Diego which I go often to say the least. I told him/her whom ever that I would drive the bike to thier "agent" but have the cash. After they insisted on the whole paypal thing I told them to kick rocks!! Thank god for googel!

Same thing on my motorcycle on craigslist today. If it sounds to good, it is.
