Sure they will stop. If after they have called and called and finally realize that you are not going to budge on giving them extortion money, they will move on to the next potential victim.

I don't believe your post. I believe that you are a part of the scam, trying to boost it by claiming that it is a government legal matter and therefore they can and will call you at a job location. I believe that yours is an attempt to summons fear by making others believe that it is a government involved matter and they had better settle. Bull Feathers! It is scamming....100%....and it is coming out of Southern Asia....

Federal Crimes Dept. That government Department may exist in Mumbai but not in this country.
Dumba$$es, I hope they choke on their own lies...

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

There is no federal crimes investigation unit. It is a scam. Don't talk to them or even answer their calls. After a while they will go away to look for a new victim. You don't need help. Don't do anything except get on with your life.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

He said headdress was officer James Kennedy he SS# and my address. If i did not call him back he was going to put me behind bars. Can we say scram he was a foreignere and you can hear alot of foreigners in the background. I save his message on my celll phone.
| Holly Addison 2013-04-05 19:29:45 Unknown |
He is stating he is Officer James Kennedy with the Federal Crimes Dept and states he has a legal complaint against my SS# which he provides along with my employer name and my home address. I hear alot of other foreigners in the back ground so I am sure it is probably the same pay day loan company I had to report to the FBI for harrassing me at home and work but using a different phone number.
