The number called but I wasn't able to answer.  No message left.  If anyone picks this one up, I'm sure we'd all like to know what they say.

this number keeps calling me, but i never answer it no voice mail is ever left.

This is a "Search Engine" group . . . apparently. In fact, the procedures they use and their overall lack of etiquette reflect a boiler-room personal rather than a bona fide brick and mortar establishment.  As my name and business numbers are firmly embedded in the Canadian national "Do Not Call" List, they are placing these calls illegally. Clearly, not a company to be trusted. The number that appears in the screen is spoofed. It appears to be from Toronto but if you call it, you get a message that the number is not in service. As well they have no names, official or otherwise listed for their "business". DO NOT TRUST THIS CALLER!!!

I think I talked to the same person.  Lol.  She's tried sending the same email three times and she's getting cranky with ME for not receiving it!

And she won't listen to me when I tell her we're not interested.  Over and over again I keep saying the same thing.  "We don't advertise" "We're not interested".

Caller asked for business manager. Asked if she knew who she was calling. She asked for the business manager again. I asked who was calling and she said "a major Canadian search engine". I asked the name of the company and she paused..... then went "Hello? Hello?" and hung up. No doubt they are taught this in the calling centre as a good strategy for when they piss someone off who is on the do not call list. Called the number for lookupcanada.ca listed above and spoke with a normal person who apologized and said he would pull the tape and try to find out why my number was missed when they cross referenced against the do not call list. I doubt either will happen, but at least he was polite.

I received a phone call from this # On Wednesday and they asked for my manager... I told him I'm not entitled to provide a # and if I could know the purpose of the phone call... he totally ignored my question  - so I asked for a name and said his "name was Virgo".

Getting calls from this number on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 with no message just a hang up.

Giving your email address to cold-calling telemarketers is not the smartest move...unless you're the sort who just loves being added to every spam email list they can possibly sell your confirmed information to.

I keep getting calls every Tuesday morning from this number around 10:30-10:45 and no messages left. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, particularly for this reason.

Got called by this # @ 1337PDT17AUG09 ... it (automated?) / they hung up on 3rd ring (1st ring on mobile after 2 ring call transfer from home).
Now that I see this comment thread, I'm satisfied that it was just another solicitation-type (or vishing scam) call ... even though I'm registered on the Canadian Do Not Call list.

well she finally did get my email address right (see previous post)! anyway, due to this, i'm including the information of the company form the email:

i got a call from this number at work. they are a search engine company. i told them that we're not interested. she asked if she could send me an email w/ more info. i said sure. she took my email address down. i must have spelt it out for her at least 3 times. no email came. a week later, she called back. told her i never recieved the email. she took down my email addy again. once again, she kept on getting it wrong. i spelt it out for her at least three times. even though i was going slowly, she was still on the first three letters of the email when i had already stated about 2/3rds of my email.

i was trying to say 't as in thomas' but she kept on repeating it back as 'p'. and the sad thing is - english IS her first language.

she also kept on talking over me when i was trying to correct her so she could not hear what i was saying.

i told her that she needs to just listen and stop talking over me. she got offended.

even if this is a legit business, they are obviously not very professional. she was by far one of the dimmest 'customer service' person i have ever talked to over the phone with.

btw, she said she'll be sending the email right after we hang-up. still no email. once again, i think she took down the email wrong.

This company sells search engine services, an 'alternative to Google' they say. I answered the call this morning and they asked for the business manager. I asked who they were looking for. No answer. They would not identify themselves. I asked them if they were selling something and said 'no'. But then they did say they were 'lacab'? (sic?) an alternative to Google. His French accent was very heavy.

I accused them of lying to me as it WAS a solicitation, that they must put my number on the do not call list now, that their supervisor was to call me back to confirm this, and if not I would begin legal action this minute.

My number is on the national Do Not Call list, but obviously not all boiler rooms respect this.

I don't expect them to comply with my wishes, but it was fun to fluster them for a moment.

Got 2 calls from this number. Nobody there when I answered the first time, then they called the second time and I answered on the first ring. Sounded like a voice was there and disconnected.
Must be some kind of scam/telemarketing thing since so many are getting calls from the same number.

Got a call at 12:25 pm today and they asked for the business manager - I said wrong # and they said thanks for taking my call and to go to a website for further information - I did not get all of that info as I was hanging up.

Picked up the phone and no response to my hello.  Then after 10 seconds or so it hung up.  Tried calling back.  All I got was a message saying this number is not in use .. weirdsville for sure.  Then had the bright idea to google it and got this website.  So at least I'm not the only one.  So no stalker .. just some piece of crap.  Now leaving the twilight zone ..;-)

Got a call at 3:50pm MST looking for owner or business manager. They wouldn't identify themselves when asked.  They continued to ask if this was a business number and then finally hung up.

Got a call from this number @ 3:45pm (EST) and it was a missed call. Callback says "it's not in service"... very weird?!

Got a call around 11am from this number - didn't answer but I tried returning the call and it said the number is not in service.. weird.

got a call this moringing from this number and asked for the owner of the business.
