we receive many calls per day from 647.367.9621. We are on do not call list and do not answer these calls.
They need shutting down as they are a real nuisance.

I was called by this number as well, only it was a different "V" code on the call display. I believe that the "Do-Not-Call List" is gathering and selling the numbers.

I got the call last week saying that they are the local charity and would be coming to our neighbourhood for cloths pickup. As I do it every 3 months, I agreed to it. I just got a call (at 11:00 AM on July 9th) again reminding me that the pickup is tomorrow.

Not sure what to do, should I donate to these guys or not?

647-367-9621 is legitish ? it's from http://www.communityclothingcentre.org/index.html  as stated above and if you check out their web site it lists this number. If yoyu call back you can talk to someone. They obviously have a crappy dialer working for them.

received 2 calls today within 2 hours.  Really annoying since I'm on NO CALL REGISTRY.  Wanted to consolidate credit card balances.  I don't have any balances.  Something should be done about these leeches like not granting them phone access or a stiff $ penality.

I received a call from this number showing id #V89161718510089 tel number (647) 367-9621.  I sympathize with proggy what an embarrasing situation she had to go through.  I pay for call display and if I see any number that I do not recognize, I do not pick up.  I call back only if they leave a message.  Tele-marketers do not leave messages.  This is their new way of getting home owners attention even if they are on Do Not Call List.

Value Village sells your donated shirt for $5.99 it cost them max 60 cents assuming it is a pound. Thats how VV makes they're money. Clothesline (the company that picks up for Diabetis is paid 60 cents per pound from VV. After paying the trucks, drivers and administrative costs Diabetis Research really only gets a small portion of that money collected from the sale of the clothing.

Any organization that collects clothing does have a very high overhead in trucking costs. With the price of gas and such that goes along with it.I'm not saying that donating to Diabetis is a bad thing because they do get something in the end however your donated clothing are being sold through VV. They are not a charity, they are a multi-million dollar business.

So one would ask do I want my clothing sold or given free to people who really need it.

Had this number interupt a call (didn't pick up my call waiting but somehow still they got through!), and the person said they were from Community Living looking for used clothing donations. Told them the number they called was unlisted, and NOT to call again.

Just so I'm clear, is the Diabetis charity getting 50-60 cents per pound profit?  Or, are you saying that a portion of the 50-60 cents goes to pay trucking and Value Village administrators?   If charities have to pay trucking and administrators with this money, then how is this worth it for charities????

The automated phone systems are known as dialers. There are fed phone numbers and automatically call the specified number, when someone answers then it is connect to the agent calling. These numbers are obtained(bought) from Statistic Canada and are exempt from the "DNC" list. The agent should have given you a link to the charity web-site. I am not aware the CF collected clothing but  I can tell you that Diabetis sell the clothing to Value Village. You know how much goes back to Diabetis reasearch? Less then 3%. Value Village pays on average 50-60 cents per pound but most of the profit go to trucking and the Executive team of Administrators, very little to the charity itself.

Yes all charities are non profit but not all non profit organizations are registered charities. You must be a registered charity to solicit donations door to door or over the phone. You are very diligent in asking these sort of questions as there are organizations out there that masquerade as a charity but if you dig deep enough you will find the answers.

I can tell you that this organization does give back to those in need. Several thousand people are given free clothing each year and it is all possible by donated clothing.

I think this might be a Skype number, or other internet based free telephone service.

A lady with a thick accent told me I had been randomly selected and won a trip for 2 to Cuba.

All she needed was my credit card information to verify that I am 18.

Can you say SCAM?

Just received a call from this number, while I was reading these posts!  I also double-checked the National Do Not Call Registry to make sure my number was listed, and it is.  I told "Robert" that my number was on the do not call registry so I didn't appreciate being bothered.  His response was "I'm not bothering you, I'm asking for donations."  I also told "Robert" that he can remove my number from his calling list because I'm not interested in donating clothes to this organization, I donate to the local Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc.  I also filed a complaint with the CRTC.  See if anything comes of it.

I am constantly getting calls from numbers with caller id's like,"V11201014270038/V11200953180038" the most recent was this 647-367-9621 number. It seems like I'm never home when these numbers call my house so I finally called one of these numbers back. It was about 5am, I had to work at 7am, I had woken up to use the bathroom and noticed I had missed calls from earlier on, one of the calls had a caller id like the ones mentioned above, so I called it back. What I didnt notice was that the actual number itself went something as follows: 9119075676  I cant remember it exactly and is now erased from my call display history but they answered as " ****** Regional Police, whats your emergency? "  taken by surprise and half asleep I quickly hung up and went back to bed somewhat puzzled. 15 minutes later I had two officers ringing my doorbell. I explained why they received a call from this number and showed the call display history to them, they said that telemarketing scammers are able to make their caller id come up as that so they wont get people calling them back;  either way they had to search my place to make sure it wasn't a distress call that was made to them. EMBARRASING and aggrevating, not a great way to start my day early!!!

Received 6 nuisance calls today.

They say they are from Community Clothing Centre when you dial the number back.  You can be placed on their Do Not Call list by pressing 1.

http://www.communityclothingcentre.org/index.html has contact info for your local representative.  Perhaps I'll call mine at home after each call I receive?

"We're going to be in your neighbourhood on Nov. 30th to collect used clothes."  They wouldn't identify where they were calling from, so I gave them an earful of slam.  I received 3 calls, 2 of them 20 minutes apart.  The first 2 calls didn't respond...very annoying & very suspicious.
