got this check for 1,000 dollars more than what I had asked . I posted an add on craigslist of an item I was selling he said he was from AUBURN WA. i am from Yakima county. So, I called the bank from were the check was from (The State Bank of Texas) and they told me it was counterfeit .his fake name was  "Dave Adams " from auburn wa .he's a thief and hopefully he gets caught by police. i searched his phone number and led me here ,I guess it's the same a***ole screwing people over .

Same senario here, response to a Craig's list ad... Asked if a check would be okay and as soon as it clears they would send a mover to pick up the item ( a compound bow)...I thought that was odd, looked at the number and realized it was two states away ( I'm in WA, it's a CA number) did a search and found the number here...thankfully I won't be getting scammed!!

Same story as the others on this blog.  I posted an item on Craigslist and this text comes through claiming to wanting "to buy the item immediately for said price. Text me back asap"

We didn't get to the part about sending me a check but I did read this blog and decided to tell them "I don't take checks.  They could wire me money.  Text me back asap."  Funny I never heard back from them.

Just received text from this # offering to send a check for craigslist listing. Felt strange about it so I googled the # and found this.

Got a text from this number too for a Craigslist item.  Wanted to send me $50 more and the same drill as above. I said no and I encourage you to do the same.

This number 6502650119 responded by txting me wanting to buy item I posted on craiglist. He sent me a chetck for 2000 more that I was suppose to wire back to his shippers. The check was fake. The prob is that u think it good b/c ur bank has to make fund avail in 2 days. That's not the case tho, it takes up to 2 wks for check to actually clear leavin u responsible for bad check
