I got a call yesterday from Brian Cooper with a thick Indian or Middle Eastern accent. Since I am currently on a work trip to South America, the number did not appear correctly on my iPhone. He told me a law suit was being filed against me for a payday loan that I had taken out and then he read me my social security number. I have never taken out a payday loan and I have no idea where he got this type of personal information. I asked him to fax me the documents and he said he would not and that I had the right to read them on the courthouse steps, his exact words. I asked which courthouse and he refused to tell me. I finally got his phone number before he hung up on me so I called back. He answered and then promptly hung up on me again when I told him my name. I called a few more times and got a recording that I was reaching the front desk of Hensdale Law Firm. Because he had my social security number, I was a little worried about identity theft. I googled the number and found these sites saying this is a scam. I'd like to put a stop to these people and find out how they got my social security number.

call from 650-425-1075.  Called my office yesterday looking for an employee of ours.  The person answering the phone told him that person could not accept calls at work.  Guy on the phone says "F### You" and hangs up.  Did not get a name.  Got a call from "Officer" John Wright this morning asking for the same person, phone number 518-649-8090, told him the person could not answer the phone, he just said it was urgent that this person contact him.

got a call from 650-425-1075 and this person said they were from hensdale law  firm they said they were calling in regards to a payday loan that i had never paid back and was like we sent you an email to your email address stating you are getting sued by the company that gave you the loan then went on to say that they could sue me in the amount of 6000 to 8000 dollars and wanted  me to setttle out of court, they said if i did this that i could lower the bill to like 548 and some change i at first did not recognize this as a scam and was convinced to send 50.00 to them to start the payments. my mother in law later that day after i had went to work looked up the number that had called and found it on this site and after reading all of the entries on here i was convinced to call the real law firm in california to see if the casenumber they gave me was real or if i was being scamed the lady that i talked to there said this is a SCAM they have been trying to catch thies guys for a while but since they are not tthe victims here that we the consumers are and gave me a few numbers to call includint the federral trade comission (ftc) and the attorneys general office in my state. this fake law firms will use tactics like threatining you with police involvement and even went so far as to say they would send the fbi and their team off investigaters to my work to have me arrested. i know alot off people who read this will say duh this sounds like a scam anyway but being only 22 the threats sounded real and the guy claiming to be a senior partner who called sounded real but please remember that to be sued any where they have to serve you in person with papers and you cant be arrested and taken to where the case is being entered in the court house like they will claim. no matter how real any of their threats souns it is always best to call the lawfirm back not on the number they give you but do your own research and find the number for your self you will save your self alot or heart ache and trouble.

Got a call from 650-425-1075 at my place of work.  The name was David Warner with some financial placed in the Department of Legal Affairs.  I called back and asked to speak to David Warner.  I asked what this was about. They asked me my name and I gave them my name.  They then asked me my phone number and that's when they told me the information about having legal action being taken against me.  That I had three charges being filed against me, Check fraud, violation of federal bank laws, and Theft by Deception.  I stopped him in mid-sentence and asked where these cases came from and he said that I had taken out a loan and didn't repay it.  I said I have no such loan out, and he repeated it back to me and said sorry and hung up.  I tried calling back a couple of hours later and the number said i could not complete the phone call.  This is in relation to another call I had gotten on my cell phone from number 650-425-1075 and 1078.  Same thing was told to me by a Brian Cooper who then sent me to a David Warner.  Same charges and everything.  They told me that they would read all the "affidavit" (which sounds a lot like a scripted statement) and they would only let me ask questions after they had read it. They said that I had received a loan in the amount of $500.00 and had it direct deposited into my bank account and that the company "US Cash Advance" had not received my payment, they attempted to take it out and there was no money.  I asked what account it was deposited and they advised me they could not provide me with that information. I asked when the loan was made and at first was not able to provide that information.  Then he said it was 6 months ago probably March.  I told him I did not take out a loan in march.  He then stated that the matter was going to be going to court and that I had to get an attorney blah blah blah (not a very good actor) and that I would be brought before a Jury and that I would be going to Jail.  I was like OK... so what does that mean? Do I get to defend myself? He was like yeah but you better get a good lawyer I said OK, when is the court date and that he needs to send me all the paper work in regards to this case.  He said that he could only file it with the Courthouse.  I said OK Ill wait till I get a certified letter with the official documents. He then stated that you have another choice and that was to pay the amount owed $582.45 to the Company and they would drop the charges.  I said I don't think so because I know I didn't take out a loan and that I would fight it.  He said that his investigating team would be here on Monday, today being Friday, I was like OK let em.  Then he said some other stuff asked if I was going to fight it and I told him yes, then he said they would be here tomorrow (Saturday) I laughed and hung up.  This last Group sounded very convincing up until he tried to sound all lawyer like but tripped up on some of the terminology and the days he stated.  This last group said they were from

I am getting the same call stating that they are suing me and coming to my job in the AM to notify my employer and get me fired. WTH. Read the affidavit, I hung up, they called back twice.
