This  Lady with an Indian called and left this number on my voice mail....more than 5 times

Received call on 7/9/10 on my work phone while out of town. Was a foreign voice named Adam Johnson said he was with the Dept. of Law & Investigation. Something about me owing Cash Net (I think this is what he said). I have saved the message on my work phone. Will follow up with local authorities.

yes, just got the same call today from a middle easterner man named Shawn Turner from "Dept of Law & Investigation" as he said, stating that I have a case  and that I need to call him before 7 Pm today ???
Don't know how he got my number. This is totally a scam!

I called the police in california and the fbi and secret services. Then I called these jerks back and told them I filed a complaint against them they hung up. but beware they will use different numbers.hopefully that will work for you. It did for me.

Just received the same call from a middle eastern sounding man with horrible english. Said I had three counts against my social security number, which he freaking knew! What can be done about this?

Got a call @ work from Mr. Johnson with an middle eastern accent.  He said I had a black mark on my credit history, and he from filing fraud charges against me in california.  I told him not to call me again, that I knew he was the one trying to commit fraud, he yelled at me to shut up and I hung up on him.  This is not the first time I have received a call of this type, the last one was from Texas and they had a warrant for my arrest.....When I called back to get the name of the company there was no answer...big surprise

I got a call and this man left a name of Adam Johnson from Department of Law & Investigation saying there is a legal matter with my social security number and I need to call him back before criminal action is taken against me.

I work for local cable provider and we also do phone service and I have heard of call like this where if you call them back they charge your call hundreds of dollars . In the same way 411 information calls are not charge your phone provide is making up its a third party and they have the right to charge you what every they want.  It would never hold up in court but its a time and money drain to fight.

These morons called me with all the stuff said below, except: I RECORDED IT. In the conversation the rep stated they were employees of the City of San Carlos Police Department, division of criminal investigations. I advised them I was recording it, and then they showed their real colors. Unlucky for them, my brother in law works the the police department in San Carlos. He should be at thier door this afternoon.

There is a lawsuit filed against me and this will result in a black mark against my credit is what the message said.

Same story, same script.  All East Indian with very thick accents, to the point that you have to have them repeat and spell in order to understand.  This individual, with the alias of Mike David, told me the name of the company that I supposedly had defrauded by not repaying a payday loan and he was going to have me arrested tomorrow morning.  I told him that I knew this was a scam because I use that company regularly, and , as a matter of fact, was just granted a new loan which was funded on 7/26.  I was positive that if I had defaulted on a previous loan, that they would not have granted a new one.  Also they were giving me a discount on fees because I was such a good customer.  I also had received a similar call last week and had gone on the lender's website and printed out a "Loan History" report that showed that all my loans were paid off on time.

If you receive these calls and you have, like me, had payday loans with the company referred to know this:

1) Even though the loan is on the internet, they are obligated to follow the laws of the State in which the borrower lives.
2) California law not only forbids criminal action against an individual for payday loans, it is illegal for them even to threaten to do so.
3)Always insist on copies of the Loan Agreement and the Letter of authorization from the Lender assingning the debt collection to thier company.
4) Insist on their complete name, the complete company name, address and phone number.  Chances are this will all be ficticious, but at least you will have a starting place for you investigation.
5)Always report the attempted fraud to your local police,  FBI IC3 Unit, FCC,FTC, consumer fraud agencies, the lender that you supposedly owe, the Better Business Bureau, Local TV investigating reporters and every website about scams that you can find.
6)I have even called the Indian Consolate because some of the investigations done by others have indicated that these calls do not even originate locally, but are actually from large phone banks in India.
I told them that they should try to do something about this because it was causing a very low and hostile opinion of Indian citizens.  If they don't watch out, they could become as hated and distrusted as Nigerians.

I love playing with these people. I play dumb and just keep asking them to repeat themselves constantly. They insult me to no end but I cheerfully say "What, can you speak up, I can't understand you". etc. etc.

Second day in a row these people of middle eastern culture have called us with phone calls threating to arrest my husband. For some Cyber Crime he committed trying to get a loan. Frist of all it is illegal in the state of Arkansas to get a payday loan of any kind. This was passed a year ago. We did try to get a truck refinanced but were turn down it was to old.
  I did get a address from them Cyber Crime Unit 143 Hoffman Lane Cambell City, Ca 92624. His name was the same as yesterday Mike Austin.
  I could hardly understand him he had such a thick foreign accent I had to ask him several time what he wanted.  He had warrents out on my husband for all kinds of thing.
  I told him my husband and his lawyer where at the FBI office reporting this. He said no no you can not do that. I hung up on him and he tried to call back twice. I did not answer. I told him I was recording what he said but that did not bother him. However, knowing my husband was at the FBI office did. I can not wait to hear from my husband when he gets back.

they called me about an hour ago said his name was mike david from some investigation division and that he had a complaint filed against my name and social i did not answe he left a message on my phone the number on the caller id  was 2080006. not the first time they called

Yes, this just happened to me and it happened a few months ago also. They've been threatening to send investigators to the door and they say they work for Riverside Criminal Attorney Office or something. The middle eastern sounding man was very rude and was yelling at me telling me I had to send him my bank statements etc.

How did it work out for you with the police showing up at their door "Mark in Seattle"?  They have been calling me all weekend and harrassing me and my family via cell and house phone.  Has anyone done something and received results?  These guys should be stopped!!!!

I have had many, many calls from these people at my place of business and have told them numerous time to leave me alone, but they keep calling.  They have said everything from I owe them money for a payday loan to I am being investigated for cybercrimes.  The way I recognize them, besides the middle eastern accent, is they also wish me good luck.  I especially liked the one that said, and I quote: "If you do not return this call immediately, there is nothing left to say but to wish you good luck as your case unfolds on you."  What a JERK!!!!!!  I have had them say they are with a law Firm of Brown & Brown, they are with the Cybercrimes Unit, and of course the Payday Loan folks.........I only wish someone could stop them because it is REALLY annoying.

I keep getting calls from these people too.  My work, cell and home.  They have even called my grandma.  The name they left this time was Adam Johnson 650-963-0918.  They change their name alot.  From being a police officer to an attorney.  Since when do police officers call you and say they are sueing you.  They are very rude.  You think they would stop, surely there is no one out there giving them money.

OMG! I just played back a message from a woman named Natasha Davis from Cyber Cline Unit, with a heavy foreign/middle eastern accent. She claimed this is a final warning message that there is a legal case of fraud case downloaded  against my name and to call her at 650-963-0918, for more information on the case. And to make sure I call back as soon as possible before I face any legal problems, goodbye, and best of luck in my legal case. ???? I worked in a fraud department, so I was more than willing to call Ms. Davis back with an attitude and a few threats of my own. lol  But I cannot get through, the line is always busy, so I decided to look up the number and find another contact number, so here I am. I think it's great that people have taken the time to post their experiences with these scam artist. Thank you and I will pass this information on to others as well.

I just received a call from my cell about 6 times and then my job.  I am so glad I looked into this before I returned the call.  The person that called me had a thick accent too and was named Mike David.  I definitely will NOT be calling back...

I just got this call from a Natasha David. Middle Eastern sounding. Threating to press charges.. calling from Cyber Crime Unit. The number showed up as 208-0007. No area Code. Voicemail had a number that showed 916-208-0077. However the call back number is 650-963-0918.

I have recieved several calls. This is a scam, they have baught your information and are trying to get you to pay them money over the phone. Do not do it, file a police report. I filed one yesterday. Do not agree to any information they give you, if it is your real SS# or whatever deny it do not tell them it is correct.
They said they are from the Cyber Crime Investigation unit from California, and I owe 450.00 for a payday loan i got in 2009, I have never gotten a loan, they said they didnt care i took this money and i need to pay it back or they were contacting the police to arrest me. They would be 3 serrious alligations on my credit, and i would face federal charges and have to pay thousands of dollars if i didnt pay 450 today.
Well I didnt pay it he hung up on me and i filed a police report.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS, IT IS ALL LIES. DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY....

The phone number was 661-270-6428.
Anybody else? Who are these people. he left a message at my work w/ the receptionast and said I needed to call back ASAP
