Don't think it's just a Verizon problem. I have Metro PCS and they called me too. A little research showed that indeed they are an ad agency.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone!  My cell is on the national do not call list.  The recorded message from the caller seemed to be an advertisement for a tax attorney to help people who owe money to the IRS, which I do not.  What kind of outfit is this?  Has my cell provider (Verizon) started giving their customers' numbers to telemarketers?
