I'm being harrassed by these people and I want it to stop.

From the comments here it looks like this unsolicited call was from a debt collector, but I have zero debt.  I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't know, and use a smartphone app called Mr Number to block numbers from telemarketers and debt collectors, or other unsolicited callers.

i just got called from them. Thanks to your post, I realized what it was. General rule, dont answer a call from area code or people you dont know.

This company identified themselves as ACI or ACS and said they were looking for Ronald Phillips, I have never heard of this man. They had my cell phone number and my name.

He was calling for my sister. I have no clue how he has my phone number since my sister doesn't even have it. He was trying to get information on where she worked, what her position was. Creeper.

it's a company called ACT...they buy defaulted student loans and then harass the original borrower for quadruple the amount they borrowed. they are ALWAYS rude! they LIE to obtain personal info about people and I think they should be shut down by the gov't for violating the FDCPA. my advice to u is to hang up in their faces.....
