Anyone knows who this is?

I have been getting a lot of calls from this number on my caller ID. Finally answered and it was a mid eastern sounding male asking questions about how much debt I have, current rates on cards, etc... I told him I wasn't interested in any debt consolidation, said thank you and hung up. He called back 30 seconds later and started yelling at me. When I said "are you kidding me, who is this" he just repeated everything I said in a sarcastic mocking tone. Then told me to "Die a thousand deaths" and muttered something else that I couldn't understand because of the accent.

A foreign (Indian) sounding woman called and spoke something about "Credit Financial"referring to me by my first name and then stated that she showed that I have over $1000 in credit debt. I asked that if she represented a for-profit organization she not call in the future and relayed that this number was registered on the federal Do-not-call list. The lady replied "I'll call back."  I don't believe she correctly interpreted the meaning of my request.

same thing this guy was rude and after I wouldn't talk to him, he keeps calling me, when I answer there is no one there, he must have alot of time on his hands

The Eastern Indian sounding male called at 12:56 p.m. today, 11/3/2010 saying he was with the National Debt Company, asking for me by name (which he slaughtered). He said that he shows I have debt over $8K I still owe and asked me to verify such. I told him that I didn't know or care where he got that information but he was cold calling me and as the number he dialed is a registered Do Not Call number, he was to take me off the list. He became very abusive, telling me that he had every right, it was a "hot lead" to which I said I didn't care what he wants to call it, I have not nor will I do business with him and he needed to remove me from his list. He became even more antagonist, asking me why I had to be so abrasive. Very argumentative individual. I curtly informed him to stop calling and hung up. Not even a minute later, he called back. I promptly got out my swim coach whistle and blew into it for a full minute, then hung up. He called back yet again and I blew the whistle 30 seconds, then hung up. He hasn't called back yet, but I did immediately go to donotcall.gov and registered a DETAILED complaint.

It sounds to me like they are phishing - trying to get your credit card number so they can spend your money.

The area code may be California, but they could be anywhere.  The probably are outside the US, in a country that does not take scamming Americans seriously and doesn't cooperate with US law enforcement.  

If they are calling your cell phone assign this number a "no ring" ring tone.  It won't stop the calls but they won't interrupt you.  For land lines, if you get lots of these calls maybe your phone company can do something to block them.  It won't hurt to ask.

This time it was an Indian lady on the other end talking about credit card debt. When she stated how much was owed, she then said-Correct? I just hung up. What can be done about these people harrassing us? Are these complaints going to anyone with any power to change it?

Just got a call from this #, but was a woman who said, "Can I speak to....." & then I accidently hung up on her. Never called back.  woman did not seem to have an accent, but then again, the words were very few.  Was expecting call from daughter, so was the only reason I answered & couldn't see the called ID as sun was too bright.  Will be more careful next time.

The call er who was a male did not identify what comapny but started off by talking about some balance on a credit card.   My husband and I do not have balances on our credit cards we pay them off every month.  So when the guy started saying I see where your husban and you have a balance on ...   I outright said you have no busniess knowing anything about our credit cards and I hung up

When do you press *57?  During the call?

this fool just called me on my cell phone how the hell did he get my cell phone # and talking about creditcard debt. I do not even have a creditcard so how do i owe a debt of $10,000? He was rude and Cussed me out for nothing this guy is sick i just really hope he does not call me back.

is this debt collector, telemarketer or what?  we haven't ever answered

oh please do that lol! He is really awful........he will CUSS you out.....the number is from Calf. I have the police on it as we speak.....if he calls again make sure to push *57 so it will be traced. I found out today by doing so it goes to a data base that covers ALL phone companies they are like the phone police department!! Just FYI this guy is something and today was a bad day to mess with me as I was up to my ankles in a flooded basement. How people can get away and think others are so dumb??? Sadly what if he reaches a elderly adult that has not a clue. How can this happen????? Well he may call you back. Good Luck!

I let it go straight to answering machine - but no message was left.  Dunno if I will pick up in future, although it might be fun to blow the freon horn in the receiver...

we just got the same guy calling us... threatening and swearing.  Hope he doesn't call back!

He asked me for my cedit card number and when I wouldn't give it to him, he told me he was going to make my life a living hell. He had a very thick accent.

Totally harassing, and when I asked him to remove my number, I'm on federal do not call list, he said he could call me back 100 times if he wanted, so far it's 12.

Watch out this guy is a nut!! Cussed me out as well as he got it back!! Very threatening call, told me I was gonna to get a surprise!! And said my old address out loud told me to f him and called me a bi...! Anyone know what he is doing? What he is trying to sell? He is a jerk and has been reported, cops took report thank God that I have good cop friend and a family member who works in Atlanta at AT&T in is a VP of her department, so they all are up on him as we speak! He called the wrong person.......trace this number back to *57 if you ever get a call from this number. For real he called me every name in the book but he did get it back! Same as the other comments people have posted. Male foreign sounding called very rude and insistent about speaking to me. Caller would only ask for me by my first name. I hung up.

p.s. I called the number from a different phone and called it *67...the number was an "invalid number"

I received a call today from some foreigner who purported to be calling me about a credit card and addressed me by not only my first name, but last name. I had no idea who this was.  I kept asking what do you want? He kept asking if this was Teresa and I persisted with you called here, what do you want?  He finally said, "you bi***, you don't understand english?"  I told him I would report this number to my local police to which he replied "ohhhh im so scared."  I hung up.  He called back twice and I let it go to the answering service.  no msg was left.  What a moron!  I'm changing my number.

we have been getting calls from this number too & this is the first time i answered it. it was a foreign woman who i could not understand. i think she asked for someone named "lot" or something that sounded pretty close to that... no one in our home has a name that sounds like that. i repeatedly asked who it was & what they wanted & received no answer after that.

We received the same rude and threatening call.
