Got a called this morning and dnt who called me! Caller didn't leave a msg!

the do not call list is for land lines & cellphones. it's free and provided through the government website www.donotcall.gov there you can list all your phone numbers- they will send you an email with a link to complete the request- this needs to be done within 72 hrs. There is a link to file a complaint as well. Good Luck! Also keep in mind that there are people "out there" who post in attempt to get a rise out of others- try to overlook them. I started recieving calls lastnight around 11pm and they didnt stop until 7:30 this morning after I had finally told them to stop calling and hung up! Everytime I answered it lastnight, noone answered me but one time and they asked for someone that has a name similiar to mine. I told them they had the wrong number and the girl said "haha! I bet I do" and hung up! I think something needs to be done about this bc it is going way to far.Especially with some of the things they are saying to ppl.

Thank you for posting this information about these JERKS being in jail.  I need to look into this more because I DO NOT LIKE the fact that my phone number is just "given" to inmates. That is just RIDICULOUS!!!

Hey everyone, I posted earlier on here. I heard back from the police and they said that the calls are coming from a Mississippi correctional facility.  These guys are already in jail!!!    Apparently, from what I understood, some jails sell stuff to make money so they use the INMATES as telemarketers!!!!!   That's how these criminals get our numbers.  The police said there wasn't much they could do locally but the correctional facility is supposed to be cracking down on this kind of thing because it has become such a rampant problem.   I hope this eases everyone's mind in some way.  But then I think we as society should be pissed that inmates are allowed people's phone numbers!

i got the same call but he called back after i hung up the first time...he proceeded to tell me exactly what he told you guys, and i called back and got the weird ringback tones and answering machine...so i gave the number to my friend who called and told the person who actually answered that he was chief of police and that i was his wife and started yelling at them, and they thoroughly apologized and said would never call my phone again...if they do i will be filing a police report.

I recieved a call too from this number at 5:17am and he said hes been doing this for years and that I can just call him phillip. I dont know or think he will actually do anything or not with him being far away but he threatend to kill my family if i didnt cooperate with him and that he wanted me to use a camera phone to take photos of myself and send them to him. and he wants me to meet him somewhere.

This idiot called my mother this afternoon, and said he said something very important to tell her, but he said he had to know if she loved her family first.  She didn't know what to think, so she just waited.  The guy says, "So, do you love your family?"  She answered yes, and he kept repeating the same question.  Once she was fed up, and he asked again, she said "No, I don't love my family..."  and the idiot was shocked, asking why not.  She hung up.  The Caller ID only said "Columbus, Mississippi."

I got a call from this number at 8am  May 2 saying that a 9 year old male relative of mine was going to die if I didnt help out. I don't have any 9 year old boys in the family. He called 5 times and texted me "don't be the cause of his death..."  Strange thing is my mother got the same call about a minute apart.  Our cell numbers are only one number different. I Filed a police report and an officer showed up at my door an hour later saying that someone else (not my mother) had gotten the same call.  I have to wonder if her number was also similar. The officer said that often a computer generates these calls and the jerk can send these calls from a different number.  Also had the mississippi area code. I have never had my phone in for any kind of repair so I don't think that's how he got my number.

I got a phone call from this number May 2 at about 4:30 a.m.  He told me to listen carefully and do as he said or a member of my family would be dead in 3 hours.  I kept asking who this was and he said to call him Phil and he would call me Pam (weird).  He then told me to take pictures of myself naked.  I hung up.  He's a real pervert.

My husband called the number the next day and got some Spanish voice mail..

Got same call here at 11:02 p.m. CST  he had one of my female family members thought he said daughter told him he had wrong number I don't have a daughter No he said a female member in your family needs your help, I want you to listen carefully DO Not call the police and listen closely to instructions thought it was the brother-in-law playing tricks so I said his name he said No my name is not SC well then who is it I said Phil he said and Do not call me SC again I want you to listen to me because your female family told me to call I then handed the phone to my husband to see if it was really his brother and person hung up so I called it back and got a ringback tone and then spanish answering machine.

my girlfriend got the same call at 3am this morning. he threatened to kill her family and said he was close by which he is not. i called it today and same gansta ring back tone and spanish answering machine. Ashley, by chance is your phone in for repair somewhere and you got a loaner ?

Got a call early this morning at like 5am didn't answer the first time but my boyfriend answered the second time the guy said his name was brian and that he needed to talk to ashley (which is weird how he knew my name) my boyfriend told him he had the wrong number he said he didn't and needed to talk to me so he handed me the phone i said hello the guy on the phone said this is brian and i need to you listen to me very carfully and then i hung up thinking it was a prank caller. I got curious today and called back the phone had a ring back tone and then the voicemail is in another language. The phone is obviously in use becasue when i called back again two hours after i called the first time the song was different but the voicemail recording was the same. this is really weird and the internet says that the 662 area code is in missippi.
